Several mammal species live in cold-water environments due to adaptations like blubber and large size. A notable exception is the sea otter—so how does it stay warm? A 2021 Science study found an answer: skeletal muscle thermogenesis. scim.ag/6lV #ScienceMagArchives

We are absolutely thrilled to share with all of our community that we are now an outstanding academy! Inspectors said that BHA is “a truly inclusive and harmonious school” with “a strong community ethos”. For any Science teachers based in NI having difficulties sourcing bacteria due to Brexit, blue milk makes a great substitute. 50ul and an L-shaped spreader. We used alcohol, bleach, lemon juice and vinegar @theASE @chatbiology

Teaching pupils to infer meaning is teaching them to use the information that's present alongside their own reasoning. This means teaching more vocabulary & exploring more high quality, thought-provoking texts. Inference is not a transferable skill, it's knowledge-based.

@MAbraham87 Rewordify is great but unsure if it shows reading age. Does however show words in text that may be unaccessible to LA students and rewrites text in a student friendly formate, see below for a ln example of PD I delivered to my department on this!
