🚨JUST IN: Senate Democrats voted NO on SCR 1001, a ballot measure to secure Arizona elections, require proof of citizenship, ban foreign money from influencing Arizona races, and establish clear statewide deadlines aimed at delivering faster election results. SCR 1001 passed the Senate along party lines with full Republican support. Despite the proposal sending the question directly to Arizona voters for final approval, every Senate Democrat voted against allowing voters the opportunity to decide the issue at the ballot box.
I loved working with the people’s lawyer, @AZAGMayes, and her fine staff on this common-sense, nonpartisan legislation to protect public health. It would creat a clear, statewide standard. Now I ask Sen. @ShawnnaLMBolick to please allow the bill to be heard in committee.
I filed HCM2015, which echoes calls by @AZAGMayes to refocus federal law enforcement resources on the fight against fentanyl here in Arizona. We've already seen many unserious, partisan resolutions. Let's pass one that can get bipartisan support and actually help public safety.
