On the afternoon of April 21 local time (early morning of April 22 Beijing time), US President Trump posted on his social media platform "Real Social" that, at the request of Pakistani Army Chief of Staff Munir and Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz, the US would "suspend military strikes against Iran" and "extend the ceasefire," while demanding that Iran "first present a unified negotiating proposal."
Trump stated that during this period, the US military would continue its naval blockade of Iran and maintain a state of readiness. He indicated that the ceasefire would be extended until Iran's proposal was submitted and the relevant discussions were concluded.
On the morning of April 8 Beijing time, a temporary ceasefire, lasting two weeks, began on the 40th day of the US-Israel-Iran conflict, mediated by Pakistan. Trump had told US media on April 20 that the ceasefire would end on the evening of April 22 Eastern Time (morning of April 23 Beijing time).
