So here's an update. The BEST bus strike in Mumbai continues. By the end of the day, it ran just 48 buses as compared to 2,766 buses everyday. 26 buses were vandalised due to stone pelting, flat tyre & mirrors smashed. Of the 48, nine were self-owned buses and 39 wet lease ones. Earlier in the day, Maharashtra Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik took a meeting of the protesting unions. The action committee of 12 unions said the meeting was positive, but ineffective and announced at 930pm that the strike would continue. Onto the second day now...
