Reduced strike zone + insane bat pop = double digit run games everywhere. If you like that, so be it. I, personally, do not. Pitching is almost irrelevant.

@halleygator The technology of the bats make the game nearly unwatchable. Lots of 170' fly balls that carry to 220'. They scream stronger players, more video, better technique. It's not fun anymore.

In December 2025, our Board of Trustees adopted institutional neutrality and embedded an anti-DEI mandate within the presidential contract itself, ensuring that no university funds, public or private, will underwrite DEI at this institution. Dr. Stuart Bell stands with Secretary McMahon, the Board, and the people of Florida on this. He is ready to lead UF forward as a university defined by merit, rigor, and the pursuit of truth.

The University of Florida was copied this week on a letter that included allegations related to its presidential search process, including the false assertion that UF violated state law to avoid public transparency in selecting a presidential search finalist.     That allegation is categorically untrue.     The University of Florida has complied fully with both Florida law and the regulations established by the Board of Governors throughout every stage of this presidential search.    Florida’s presidential search framework intentionally establishes a two-phase process.  In the first phase, state law expressly requires confidentiality for applicants and search committee deliberations.  Committee members sign non-disclosure agreements, and candidate interviews, discussions, and the selection process are legally required to be conducted outside of the public view.  The law further provides that while a finalist may be publicly announced, information regarding other candidates and committee deliberations remain confidential.      This framework was adopted for a reason: without confidentiality, many of the nation’s most qualified candidates simply would not participate in public university searches. Florida’s process reflects a deliberate policy choice by the Legislature and the Board of Governors to ensure universities can attract the strongest possible candidates while still providing robust public scrutiny of finalists.    The second phase of the process, the phase now underway, is entirely public.    The search finalist, Dr. Stuart Bell will participate in public forums open to faculty, students, staff, the public and the media.  Members of the community will have the opportunity to ask questions on a wide range of topics, including Dr. Bell’s positions and leadership decisions regarding diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.    In addition to these forums, the Board of Trustees will interview Dr. Bell at a public meeting.  If selected as president-elect, the Florida Board of Governors will interview Dr. Bell at a public confirmation hearing.  Both hearings are open to the public, including students, faculty, staff, the public and the media.     Reasonable people may hold differing views regarding any candidate. But it is wrong to suggest that UF circumvented the law or operated outside the bounds of transparency established by the State of Florida.  The University followed the exact process required under Florida law, a process designed to both protect the integrity of the search and ensure meaningful public accountability.    The University of Florida remains fully committed to selecting a president who will advance UF’s trajectory as one of the nation’s premier public research universities while remaining aligned with the values, priorities, and laws of the State of Florida.    We encourage all interested members of the UF community to participate in the public forums and public meetings ahead.

My honest review- Gainsville Florida, FU swamp stadium Morgan Wallen concert 5-15-26 Morgan himself is an amazing performer, nonstop energy, and he sounds really good( from what i could tell). The pyrotechnics, the fireworks, the light up wristbands that we were given that go in sync to the music was phenomenal. Walking out with Tim Tebow was also top-notch! The venue in itself was quite poor to be honest with you. I paid an absorbent amount of money on Ticketmaster to sit the 2nd row off the field, and we could barely see the stage. We were only really able to see most of it from watching the Screens. When I booked the tickets, the view that was given was not the view that we were actually seeing. The stupid floor signs obstructed our view too. Quite disappointing, considering the very expensive price tag. Having to sit on bleachers for five hours like high school kids is diabolical. So uncomfortable, especially when the drunk people behind you kept spilling their drinks on you. I almost went to prison lol 😆 Secondly, the sound was extremely muffled. Anytime they were speaking and actually saying things, it was very hard to understand what they were saying. Different when he was singing because we knew the words and could understand what was being said. If you walked halfway up the stadium. The sound was much better. So I don’t know if being on the ground is always like that but quite disappointing for the price tag. I’ve seen other reviews with the same issue. The filming booths definitely blocked good views for us too. The parking situation and trying to exit the stadium was fucking insane. Gridlock traffic for 2+ hours. That town is not equipped for people to come in like that. I’m assuming during football games it’s mostly students who already lived there and don’t have to drive, but oh my God what a nightmare. All in all, Morgan was fantastic and I would definitely see him again, he is top-notch. 5 ⭐️ The venue in itself two out of five stars. ⭐️ would not repeat an event there.

🚨 BREAKING: ShinyHunters defaced Canvas login portals for hundreds of colleges and universities today, replacing them with extortion demands tied to the recent Instructure breach. Sources tell BleepingComputer that the hackers exploited another unpatched vulnerability in Instructure’s systems, allowing them to hijack approximately 330 Canvas portals and display ransom messages to students and staff. What happened: 🔴 Canvas login portals were replaced with ShinyHunters extortion messages 🔴 The messages warned schools to negotiate before May 12 or student data would be leaked 🔴 The defacements also appeared inside the Canvas mobile app The portals were visible for about 30 minutes before being taken offline as Instructure responded to the incident. This follows last week’s breach where ShinyHunters claimed to have stolen 280 million student and staff records tied to thousands of schools using Canvas.
