@faraz_r_khan If you can avoid building the hardware sure. But if the hardware is an unlock for a software win, you get a moat of "common advice" your competitors are getting :)

The most common advice for software founders is that you must learn to code. However for hardware founders it’s to leave the hardware to China and focus on “product”? Why?🤔

@faraz_r_khan Maybe this is true if you're building trivial hardware (i.e. dumb but profitable iot devices). In general v1s need to be done quick turn and domestic wins. V2s are great to outsource cost downs and better dfm practices.

@AaronMNathan Most people I talk to say this - including successful hardware founders. Working on hardware directly with your bare hands is just considered a waste of time and better left to China/Taiwan.

This is a wonderful thing to see. We need to immediately start scaling these kind of technologies to mass market vehicles, which will require at scale hd maps, order of magnitude reduction in sensor costs and use of more sensor modalities than "just camera or just lidar".

The @hivemapper project Ground Truth. High precisions GNSS surveying solution built by our very own. It is the ugliest thing ever, but it's beautiful at one thing and one thing only, and that is all that matters.

Congrats to the team for a strong Q1! R1 production made significant progress over Q4 2022. We limited production of our EDV van this quarter while we brought up our LFP pack and new Enduro motor in the 500 and 700. Excited for the continued ramp ahead!

What’s a good design for a wheeled / track robot that can carry 20-25lb garbage bags up stairs? Tired of carrying garbage bags up the hill and groceries down the hill at my house 😅

@SafeSelfDrive The secret is with driverless cars (polite rule abiding drivers) cycling gets infinitely safer and thus open to more.

@SafeSelfDrive Even as a cyclist, the cargo bike scratches a different itch. It's not that you need a different company, it's that you need the ecosystem to make it work. If someone steals you 8k cargo bike at the Safeway, you're currently SOL.

@mcwm It's actually a really efficient way to cook a potato and aside from skin, tastes same as baked.

In 36 years, I don’t think I’ve ever microwaved a potato. Is that a thing a lot of people do? Is it a thing that necessitates a dedicated potato-heating button ?

A company with 100x less money is 100x more proficient at delivering global scale inventions in AI. It's inconceivable. Google has practically lost and is the leader in not shipping.

@JakeWoodTR I interpret it as: They're going to look at how much cash is available and pay out a percentage of your overall balance based on how much they can confidently send. Then they're going to give you an IOU saying "we owe you X and will try to get it to you as we sort all this out"

someone please translate: The regulator said it would pay uninsured depositors an advance dividend within the next week. Uninsured depositors will also get a receivership certificate for the remaining amount of their uninsured funds.
