It's a few days to the end of the May devotion. Let's mention Mary under the titles that appeal to you more🙏 Me: Mary, our Mother of Good Counsel

@Defensofidei A lot. The saints that witnessed the Marian apparitions, St. Brigid (I love me a stubborn woman of God), St Lucy, my guardian angel. I think I'll just be shy at first. I built a fun devotional game around the saints & church calendar. It's in my bio.

Catholics of X: If you could sit down for 10 minutes with any saint (living or in heaven), who would you choose and what one question would you ask them? I need more Catholic followers…. Let’s hit the follow button. We need to build a wall of defense on X

@JayPBell @Defensofidei You misunderstand me, and I appreciate every part of Catholic worship. But you see, my best part of being an adult Christian is humanizing the Bible people and seeing the nuances with my adult eyes. The same way you'd read other sacred text, please read the Bible.

@AbaforAmy @Defensofidei Catholics don’t lack Scripture engagement—Mass is saturated with it. The “just read the Bible” critique misses that Catholic worship is cyclical immersion in the biblical narrative, not isolated excerpts, with Scripture received liturgically and communally, not just privately.

@Simply_Tessy Eno-obong. I'll become the saint, according to my late father who insisted on our names for all six of his children. (He used to argue until the priests agree) For context, I'm in my 50's by the way.

@Defensofidei Prayer to St. Michael the Archangel and pray your rosary. So, it depends on why you're doing the novena but I'll also recommend novena to Our Lady Undoer of Knots

Today, my hot take is ….Start preparing for the life of your dream. You want a new job? What prevalent skills do you need to learn to keep the job when you get it? Start learning them now. You want to speak at events? Start working on how to speak better. Do you have headshot or a solid bio? Will you be ready if someone invited you to speak today? You want to travel more? Do you have your international passport? Are you putting cash away etc? Truth is, opportunities come to those who are prepared and you can very much start prepping today so when the day comes? Oh chim, people can tell you were made for it.💕

Ever wonder why the Catholic Church has a different saint for literally everything? Lemme explain why it works this way and how much it actually matters. Saints were real people with real jobs, hobbies, and struggles. Lost your keys? Ask St. Anthony (he famously lost his favorite book and prayed it back). Brutal exam coming up? Look to St. Thomas Aquinas (the ultimate scholar). Facing the impossible? St. Jude is the man for lost causes. It takes the massive concept of prayer and makes it deeply personal. It's like asking a friend who is a doctor to give you a quick diagnosis. They just get it. Catholics don’t worship saints. They ask saints to pray for them to God. It is the exact same vibe as texting a friend to pray for me before a job interview. You're just asking a friend who is already in heaven. You can always just pray straight to God. People choose a saint's name at confirmation, keep a St. Christopher medal in their car for safe travel, or look to them for daily comfort. The saints aren't the engine of the faith (that's God), but they are the ultimate, hyper-specialized support network. Drop a profession or a weirdly specific problem below and I'll find out who your patron saint is!
