I'm ready to die on this hill: our security agencies would be far more professional and effective if they focused on recruiting only graduates of tertiary institutions 😕

I hate it when someone dies of cancer, and we start giving medical advice. Stop being insensitive. There is no single CAUSE of Cancer; there are interactions of multiple factors. I've seen fitness junkies develop cancer at an early age, and those with the most unhealthy lifestyles live disease-free until old age. Even though we encourage a healthy lifestyle through health education, let's choose our moments so that our good intentions aren't misconstrued, please🙏

Nigerians get angry when you tell them there is no fine dining in the country They get angry when you say their states smell The get angry when you say there aren’t enough buses They get angry when you tell them not all their powdered milk is real milk Now they are angry that they have been told they don’t have ‘Ivy’ tier schools Take that up with your government, idk and stop these delusions of grandeur 🤷🏾‍♀️

“What happens to other patients who have spent millions on admission?” This is emotional blackmail. A doctor was assaulted, and somehow the focus has shifted from the violence (which has been normalized) to making doctors feel guilty for reacting. Mind you, reports said he was operating on a patient in theatre when the incident happened…I wonder what happened to that patient. They literally fired shots and sprayed tear gas too. But it’s still the doctor that should be thinking about the patients on admission? I said what I said. Shut down the hospital.

NMA Uyo should not accept anything less than the publication of those EFCC operatives that were involved and their dismissal

Why EFCC Operatives Visited UUTH The Tuesday, May 12, 2026, visit of operatives of the Uyo Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, to the University of Uyo Teaching Hospital, UUTH, in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State was informed by the need to authenticate a medical report presented by a suspect under remand by Justice M.A Onyetunu of the Federal High Court, Uyo, for allegedly defrauding multiple micro finance banks, including University of Uyo Micro Finance Bank. The suspect had presented a medical report which required authentication by the UUTH management. The Commission wrote two different letters, dated March 11, 2026 and April 20, 2026, to the hospital management to this effect without receiving any response. The Investigating Officer handling the matter took the further step of visiting the hospital to enquire about the status of the request. Still, no response. As a last resort, operatives of the Commission visited the Chief Medical Director of the hospital on Tuesday to make further enquiries, only to be locked in with a false alarm and subjected to unprovoked attack by misguided staff of the facility who pelted them with stones and other dangerous objects. While within the hospital, the CMD reportedly directed that gates of the facility be shut, making it impossible for any lawful enquiry to be made. Police authorities in Akwa Ibom State advised the CMD to open the hospital gates to enable the operatives exit the premises peacefully but the entreaties were turned down. In spite of the hostility and provocation, there was no breakdown of law and order as the operatives exercised restraint and professionally made their ways out of the hospital premises without disrupting its activities. Enquiries bordering on operational engagements of the Commission are lawful. It is therefore necessary to remind the public and corporate bodies that they are obligated to cooperate with the agency in such circumstances. Contrary action could be deemed as obstruction, which is criminal with attendant legal consequences.

Let’s run an experiment. Check the profiles of most of the people in the replies and quotes, you will see; doctor, nurse, pharmacist, MLS, Intern, med student, radiographer etc…the rest of the public looks away like it’s not their business.

🚨 BREAKING: THE THEATRE IS NO LONGER SACRED. TOP SURGEON BRUTALIZED AT UUTH. 🇳🇬 We are receiving horrific reports from the University of Uyo Teaching Hospital (UUTH). This isn't just a news update; it is a direct assault on the medical profession. This morning, May 12, 2026, armed and masked operatives identified by eyewitnesses as personnel from the EFCC stormed the federal facility in a commando-style raid. They didn't come to arrest a criminal; they came for Professor Eyo Ekpe. Professor Ekpe is a Professor of Cardiothoracic Surgery. He is the Deputy CMAC of UUTH. He is one of the few specialists standing between life and death for millions of Nigerians in the South-South. Witnesses say the operatives were ruthless. Staff members who tried to intervene were beaten and threatened with firearms. Imagine being a Professor of Medicine and the Deputy CMAC of a tertiary hospital, only to be dragged out of your office like a common thief. Reports suggest this assault was triggered by a dispute over a medical report for a relative of a high-ranking official. However, the EFCC has yet to issue an official statement explaining the reason for the raid itself, as the entire situation simply does not make sense. We are calling on the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA): How much more can we take? If a Professor of Surgery is not safe in his own hospital, who is? Nigeria is bleeding specialists, and today, the system just cut its own throat. We demand the immediate release of Professor Ekpe and a total apology for this desecration of our health sector. 🩺✊

Prof. Ekpe is a Cardiothoracic surgeon. If you passed through UUTH, you'll know how gentle this man is. He barely raises his voice. What manner of disrespect to the only Cardiothoracic surgeon in Akwa Ibom. Disgraceful!

Armed, masked police men are currently in University of Uyo Teaching Hospital. They came, went to the Deputy CMAC’s office and dragged out a whole professor of medicine like a thief, they beat up and threatened to shoot staffs who tried intervening. The hospital gate has been shut down, medics and non medical staff have blocked the gate.

I think as an industry, we need to keep acknowledging what Daniel Etim Effiong did with The Herd. Your first film is not the time to be brave. The natural instinct is to make something safe. Something people will like. Because you need that.
