Was thinking we should revive some of these Mamluk Turkic names and when looking up “Qutluqtamur”, came across Islamic History Open Data Platform, a cool resource from Ghent University ihodp.ugent.be

Interesting to see Abū Yaʿlā cite a hadith on four aḥruf rather than seven in his Ibṭāl al-Taʾwilāt. The editor deems it weak, but clearly Abū Yaʿlā thought it authentic.

@huzaifahikhan @YasirQadhi Ah, yes, that is true from checking his bibliography. How did he manage that? I only come across these things by serendipity. He did miss out Baz (2017) and Al-Freih (1990).

From Livnat Holtzmann, “The Caliph al-Qādir bi-llāh and the Qādirī Creed” in: 'Rulers as Authors in the Islamic World’ (2024) IQQ = Qādirī-Qāʾimī creed I’m not sure if @YasirQadhi has seen this too.
