@JerryThe_Berry@DanksyCd Also, when you consider we were doing just fine before he decided to drop Neumann, it makes the L/R foot centre backs point somewhat invalid. If it isn’t broke don’t fix it, and defo don’t take that long to un break it
@JerryThe_Berry@DanksyCd I would acknowledge that, but it took him so long to rectify the problem it was borderline negligible, every single fan could see we were worse off defensively without him (Wagner being out obv didn’t help with defence but made it worse Neuman wasn’t playing)
@JerryThe_Berry@DanksyCd I absolutely accept that some of the signings haven’t been good enough, but Robison was never signed to be a starter, as you say Beadle was young and everyone knows what you get with a young GK. And then Davies made the decision to drop Neuman in March (run in) for no reason
@AdiBush10@DanksyCd I’m not, Kyogo was one of many who underperformed. Doyle, Robinson, Beadle to an extent although his criticism has been over the top IMO, GK mistakes are often judged more harshly. Your mindset is firmly against CD so it’s clouding your view of any reasonable argument for him
@JerryThe_Berry Glimmers of good performances, then a couple of weeks later at Charlton and Derby it’s back to the same shite we’ve been served up all season. I believe he has some ability to adapt at points, which makes it even more frustrating when he refuses to/cant.
@JerryThe_Berry I wasn’t there for the Hull game so can’t speak too much to that, but the Ipswich game was an improvement on the majority of the season. I’m not sure that’s enough evidence to say he’s fully changed. Especially when we’ve seen away games like Norwich and Oxford with so many 1/2
@JerryThe_Berry@DanksyCd Same point goes for you in that case. You can’t blame the whole seasons failure on Kyogo missing a couple of chances up until January without also acknowledging that a large part of the problem this season has been Davies. (Who dropped Kyogo as soon as he started scoring btw)
@AdiBush10@DanksyCd You can twist the point as much as you like, the fact is, strikers underperformed throughout. I was Kyogo’s biggest fan, however his plethora of missed chances in the first couple of months of the season are a big reason we’re not higher up the table. 1/2
@JerryThe_Berry Also, it’s Davies who instils the mindset for these away games (we’ve conceded in the first 25 mins in 12/23 away games this season). He’s also downright refused to change the way we play away for a solid 90% of the season
@AdiBush10 There’s been a lot of rubbish away, I accept that. The form on the road is what’s killed us.
I think it’d still be harsh, on the whole, to sack a manager 2 years into his career who has the best win percentage of any we’ve ever had 🤷🏻♂️
@JerryThe_Berry I don’t think it’s fair to count win % in league 1 in a point about a manger in the champ. No one’s denying that Davies may one day go on to be a decent manager, but I absolutely don’t think he’s shown enough this season for us to justify risking another nothing season on him
@JerryThe_Berry@DanksyCd You can’t say “if this happened” then Davies’ negligence wouldn’t have mattered, you’re getting into the Cotterill “if we didn’t concede it would’ve been 0-0” territory of silliness now. Davies can’t put the ball in the net for Kyogo, but he did agree and sign off on his signing.
@AdiBush10@DanksyCd So you also take the point that it’s not CD’s fault that those strikers underperformed, right? End of the day, if those strikers had scored more goals early in the season, the defensive decisions later would’ve been redundant & we’d be a lot nearer/in the playoffs
He’s young, he’s developing at this level, give him time. They say about August Priske.
So why not….
He’s young, he’s developing at this level, give him time. With Chris Davies?
#bcfc
I’ve still got a foot in both the in and out camps. Undecided. I’ll be fine either way.
@DanksyCd I take the points about strikers not scoring chances they should. But Davies is the one who approved of the signings (gk also) and he picks the team sheets, the fact he dropped Neuman during that rancid run of form after Leeds then brought him back after Blackburn is inexplicable
@AdiBush10 Weve seen individual mistakes that have cost us, strikers that havnt performed to expectations, goalkeeper mistakes, and a defence that hasn't been settled all season through injuries and bad form, sometimes promotion needs everything to alighn, we struggled for consistency
@DanksyCd Problem is, not sure there was a single point all season where Davies showed us that he’s learned anything. I don’t think it’s worth the risk keeping him on considering we’ll find out early if he’s learned from this season as a whole and if he hasn’t the consequences will be dire
@AdiBush10 Overall I think the home form was decent, away form killed us , 3 or 4 more wins would of comfortably had us in the play offs,
I believe there is a good platform been built for next season, I think davies will have learnt more from this seasons struggles than league 1 success 🙌
@No1bluenose93 As I said in the tweet mate, I can’t believe how many people appreciate the job he’s done this season, if there’s a few thousand who think the performances and final position have been acceptable then that’s up to them…
