Today, 26 April 2026, I formally resigned from my position as Senior Advisor to the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud. This decision follows careful reflection on the serious political challenges, which, if not addressed through inclusive dialogue, sound judgment, and a strong sense of national responsibility, could undermine both political stability and national security. In the coming days, I will share with the public my detailed perspectives and recommendations on possible pathways to address the ongoing political crisis during this sensitive transitional period, particularly as the mandate of the elected government institutions is set to expire on 15 May 2026.

Today, Deputy Prime Minister @SalahJama led the quarterly meeting of the Coordination Working Group, organized by Somalia's @Tubsancenter for PCVE. Among the key participants were the Minister of Information and Tourism @DaudAweis, the Director of Tubsan, and President's Advisor Mr @AbdullahiMNOR. The high level meeting aimed to strengthen efforts against violent extremist ideologies and included Somalia's International Partners, representatives from Federal Member States, and members of civil society organizations.

Congratulations to the Members of Parliament on the momentous achievement of amending the frist 4 chapters of the constitution. This marks a significant step towards Somalia's state-building process and i applaud the diligent efforts & commitment of the MPs, OC and ICRIC.
