from Gulu City (For God Ward). Pre-formation training using the CMO Procedures Manual (MWE, 2019) was critical given that committee members had no prior MCMC experience and limited knowledge of catchment boundaries.

If you're in Gulu i would highly recomend this Friday at elephante. A thought-provoking Ugandan film directed by @usamamukwaya & produced by @KasUganda and South Sudan that tackles the pressing issue of disinformation in our society, especially during this election period.

With the Northern Uganda Youth Parliament in Gulu, we conclude a powerful round of Subregional Youth Parliaments across Uganda. From Ankole to Rwenzori, Busoga, West Nile, Central, Eastern, and Northern, young people gathered to debate urgent issues such as unemployment, political exclusion, education reform, mental health, land justice, climate change, and transitional justice. Through motions and fierce debate, youth called for lower nomination fees, inclusive civic spaces, vocational training, reparations for conflict survivors, climate financing, and greater youth involvement in governance. They also spotlighted corruption, social media censorship, and barriers faced by young people with disabilities. These parliaments were not symbolic, they were evidence of what happens when young voices are heard, respected, and trusted to lead. We extend deep appreciation to our partners for the 8th Northern Uganda Youth Parliament: @Parliament_Ug @HashtagGulu @centre4policy @GCSP_Uganda @giz_uganda @EU_YSBUg and @EUinUG for fuelling this movement toward a more inclusive, youth-led democratic future. #YouthParliamentUG

Today, in partnership with @FarajaAfricaFdn, we hosted the Northern Uganda Youth Parliament in Gulu. Over 70 young people from Lango, Acholi, and Karamoja sub-regions took part. One thing is clear—when given the space, young people show up and engage meaningfully.

Happening now in Pakwach District: The West Nile Subregional #YouthParliamentUG brings together youth leaders from across the region to debate and shape policy on key issues affecting their communities. Today's order paper includes motions on: 1. Addressing the rise in mental health disorders linked to drug abuse and unemployment 2. Involving youth in governance as key decision-makers 3. Urging local governments to develop environmental protection plans in refugee host communities amid the climate crisis. The voices of West Nile youth are united in driving meaningful change.
