CEED engaged the Water Source Protection Committees (WSPCs) of Oyitino 1 & 2 to form and revitalize the WSPCs. The committee comprises 9 members representing the multi-jurisdictional nature of the catchment, with leadership from Amuru District (Palema Parish) and secretariat 1/1

👉Identify existing WSPCs and assess their functionality. 👉Mobilize and sensitize communities around the six boreholes. 👉Form or revitalize WSPCs in line with national guidelines. 👉Build the capacity of WSPCs on water source protection, operation, and maintenance. (2/2)

Local leaders, WSPCs, and community leaders from Gulu city are undergoing training on areas of environmental conservation, sanitation, and monitoring. Objectives of the training focus on: 👉Develop localized action plans for each WSPC.(1/1)

The face of New Northern Uganda Youth.

With the Northern Uganda Youth Parliament in Gulu, we conclude a powerful round of Subregional Youth Parliaments across Uganda. From Ankole to Rwenzori, Busoga, West Nile, Central, Eastern, and Northern, young people gathered to debate urgent issues such as unemployment, political exclusion, education reform, mental health, land justice, climate change, and transitional justice. Through motions and fierce debate, youth called for lower nomination fees, inclusive civic spaces, vocational training, reparations for conflict survivors, climate financing, and greater youth involvement in governance. They also spotlighted corruption, social media censorship, and barriers faced by young people with disabilities. These parliaments were not symbolic, they were evidence of what happens when young voices are heard, respected, and trusted to lead.
