Induced by my belief that sports are a critical area for commitment and investment that can help lift millions of our youths out of poverty while contributing to the development and unity of our dear country, I recently toured the much-advertised Kigali Sports City in Rwanda alongside Nigerian-born Masai Ujiri, the trailblazing President of the NBA’s Toronto Raptors. The tour began with a visit to the arena, a world-class facility known for its cutting-edge design and construction. This venue, where the 2022 CHOGM (Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting) was held, generates enough revenue to operate independently, without recourse to government funding. Next, I visited the stadium, a 45,000-seater facility built and commissioned a few months ago. What truly left me in awe, however, was the ongoing construction of a complex comprising a hotel, a mini-game village, open areas for engagements, and a sports bar, all part of what is named "Zaria Court,” developed by Masai Ujiri. He explained the significance of the name, revealing that he was born and raised in Zaria, Nigeria. His love for Zaria fuels his desire to see such facilities in Nigeria, particularly given the size and potential of the country. He remarked that such developments should exist in most states or, at the very least, in each of the six geopolitical zones. Unfortunately, he pointed out that neither the National Stadium in Lagos nor the one in Abuja is in good condition. I couldn't help but reflect on the power and potential of Nigerian youth in sports, entertainment, and other sectors. Facilities like these could tap into that potential and provide development opportunities. Regarding our national stadiums, especially the one in Surulere, Lagos, Masai Ujiri encouraged redevelopment and active management of the facility. With proper management, these facilities could pay for themselves, just as they are doing in Rwanda. While driving back to my hotel, I couldn't help but think about how we can kickstart such projects, creating jobs, changing the narrative in sports and entertainment, and contributing to building the new Nigeria that we all know is POssible. -PO

BREAKING: Chief Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to the President Tinubu on Media and Publicity, will be taking an indefinite leave of absence to focus on personal medical issues. He said, “On Friday, I submitted a memo to the Chief of Staff to the President informing my office that I am proceeding on an indefinite leave of absence to frontally deal with medical matters presently affecting my immediate, nuclear family. “While I fully appreciate that the ship of state waits for no man, this agonizing decision -- entailing a pause of my functions as the Special Adviser to the President on Media & Publicity and Official Spokesperson of the President; Special Presidential Envoy on Climate Action, and Chairman, Presidential Steering Committee on Project Evergreen -- was taken after significant consultations with my family over the past several days as a vexatious medical situation has worsened at home. “I look forward to returning to full-time national service when time, healing, and fate permit. “I respectfully ask for some privacy for my family and I during this time.”

Takeaway from this are; 1- gotten cheaper than market price. 2- Saves more fuel than the old one. 3- the old one is due to change and it’s at risk of crash. 4- this comes with modern communication systems. 5- safety of anyone in the presidency is paramount and not a thing of play.

President Tinubu departs for France President Tinubu departed Abuja Monday for Paris, France using the new Airbus A330, which replaced the 19-year-old Boeing B737-700(BBJ) bought under the Presidency of President Olusegun Obasanjo. The new plane, bought far below the market price, saves Nigeria huge maintenance and fuel costs, running into millions of dollars yearly. The recommendation to replace the B737-700(BBJ) followed an investigative hearing by Nigeria's parliament that questioned the plane's safety record and cost efficiency, especially after it malfunctioned during a trip to Saudi Arabia. The Nigerian Senate’s security and intelligence committee recommended replacing the ageing aircraft in the presidential fleet to reduce downtime and operational expenses. The new plane is spacious and is furnished with the state-of-the-art avionics, customized interior and communications system.

@winexviv This is pure tribalism. Can't they use quota system? Let them simply say that they want only the Igbos for this opportunity. Has Nigeria done anything in this manner before? Do you want to tell us that Nigerian ancestors who started the quota system are all mad? This isn't good!

I'm looking for 20 students who scored all A's in 2023/2024 WAEC exams. Their results will have to be 100% genuine and reflection of their exceptional intelligence. An organisation reached-out to me today and is interested in sponsoring the students application to United World Colleges. It's an intensive 2 year program only available for exceptionally smart students. It's a rigorous program. Once they successfully go through the program, they can gain full scholarships to Ivy League schools like Harvard, MIT, Stanford etc. The program is done in 18 different countries ranging from US, Canada, Singapore etc. So the successful students will move to any of these countries for the 2 year program. Kindly share so the right people may see it. PS: Students who wrote waec in miracle centers should not bother reaching out.

Great and inspiring speech by Mr. President @officialABAT. Compassionate, yet firm; conciliatory, yet not condescending; resolute on our objectives, yet reassuring. Wonderful balance.
Bola Ahmed Tinubu@officialABAT

My fellow Nigerians, Today, I address you with a sense of responsibility, as we navigate through these times. The protests, which turned violent in some parts of our nation, have caused unimaginable pain and loss, particularly to the families of those who have tragically lost their lives. Our nation’s resources are stretched thin as we rebuild what has been destroyed. As your President, I am committed to ensuring public order and protecting the lives and property of every Nigerian. We must come together, suspending further protests, and embrace dialogue for the sake of our nation’s unity and progress. Despite the challenges, our government is making significant strides. We have doubled government revenues by blocking leakages and introducing automation, reduced debt service, and launched major infrastructure projects. Initiatives like the Compressed Natural Gas Initiative, the MSME Hubs, and the Renewed Hope City and Estate projects aim to improve the quality of life for all Nigerians. To drive down the cost of food and medicines, I have ordered the suspension of duties on critical food items and medical supplies for the next six months, in the first instance, while I can also confirm to you that billions of Naira worth of tractors and planting equipment purchased from US, Brazil and Belarus, are already on the way to our country. We have also shown our commitment to the youth with programs like the student loan scheme and the Digital and Creative Enterprises initiative, which will create millions of jobs. Let us choose hope over fear, unity over division, and progress over stagnation. Together, we can build a brighter future for ourselves and generations to come. Forward Ever, Backward Never! Thank you for your attention, and may God bless our great nation

Now that Peter Obi has come out to endorse the planned protest by his supporters, he should do what President Tinubu and former President Buhari did in the past, by coming out openly to lead the protesters. That is what leadership is about. Not playing the master puppeteer behind the scene. He should be in the forefront of the protest and help in curbing their possible excesses.

Nysome WIKE will forever be in the news. That's how he programmed his strategies and his foes are acting in his script, free of charge. When he wanted to flag off Modern Bus Terminals, he wore a denim overall. When he wanted to flag off Appeal Court Complex Abuja Division, he wore a clean black suit. At the Bus Terminal event, he said "we will not handover this maintenance to civil servants or NURTW because we don't want to destroy this project, it will be managed by the private sector, and government will supervise it to ensure that private sector doesn't exploit our people. All drivers and vehicles will be registered and one chance crime will fade away....." At the Appeal Court Complex, the job which was to last for 2 years was shortened by Wike. He said "President Tinubu will never allow a project like this to linger indefinitely. Already, 90% of the entire fund for this project is already in the 2024 budget. My Lords, the next year, September 2025, Legal year will be held in this Complex." The CJN and the President of Court of Appeal thanked the President and FCT Minister for breaking a 48 years jinx by giving Abuja division of the Court of Appeal a structure, the division has been squatting at the National Headquarters of the Court of Appeal for decades, managing only 2 Court rooms but today, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has flagged off a 10 court room for the division to ensure smooth and faster adjudication! The bus Terminals under construction in the city centers and area councils are also first time in FCT history because there's no official bus stop in Abuja, hence the rampant rate of one chance incident. HOPE RENEWED
