Da Vinci was notoriously lazy. He left a lot of projects half finished. His patron was really too nice to him and let him do what he wanted. Michelangelo on the other hand had toxic Pope Julius as his patron who got him to complete many masterpieces by consistently threatening his life and pillaging his home town. You need a toxic male to get some results out of these sentimental artist types. Notice how no good Hollywood movies being made without Harvey Weinstein? Same issue.
