It took me over two years, but just finished reading through the entire Bible for the first time. Def recommend it!

Matthew 1 makes a point to trace the 42 generations between Abraham and Jesus. But what I find interesting is that Jesus wasn't born from the seed of any man, but conceived by God through Mary the virgin. This appears on the surface to undermine that lineage.

Jeremiah 2:13 - "they've hewn out cisterns for themselves, broken cisterns that can hold no water." Oh Lord let us not deceive ourselves into trying to find wholeness or satisfaction in broken, worthless things. Only you can make us whole.

But despite having left God, He has not left them. In verse 9, "I still contend with you, and with your children's children I will contend." God is so merciful
