NEMA has issued a STOP ORDER to Siia Fusion (U) Limited (Lead Bricks Production Factory) Located in Nakapinyi South Village, Kasenge Parish, Nama Sub-County for Non-Compliance to the Environmental Standards and Regulations under Section 129 of the National Environment Act, Cap. 181. Upon inspection the followings were noted; 1. Was operating without an ESIA certificate. 2. Air pollution above limits prescribed under the National Environment (Air Quality) Regulations 2024. 3. High noise levels contravening Regulation 6 (i) and schedule 1 of the National Environment (Noise standards and control) Regulations, 2003. 4. The facility had no licensed waste handler for both hazardous and nonhazardous waste. The permissible limits of PM 2.5 is 35 μgM3, PM10 is 60 μg/m3 and Total Volatile Organic Compounds is 600 μg/m3.
