It’s British Science Week! 🔬📷<✈️ Yesterday, Year 4 had great fun designing and making paper aeroplanes. They created different designs, went outside to test them and then had a competition at lunchtime to see whose could travel the furthest! @DNEAT_Academies

📚 Ahead of #WorldBookDay, our Yr 6 pupils teamed up with Yr 2 for a fun outdoor activity on the school field. Working together, they searched for hidden letters & arranged them to spell a very special word - READING. Fantastic teamwork & support from our brilliant Y6 helpers! 🌟

🐉Reception celebrated Chinese New Year by tasting some delicious Chinese food! The children tried rice, noodles, prawn crackers, soy sauce & even opened their own fortune cookies 🥠 Lots of brave tasting & big smiles as we learned about different traditions! 🌏 @DNEAT_Academies

This half term, Yr 3 have been exploring shadows & light! 🌞🌑 They predicted what shadows would look like and discovered that opaque objects make the darkest shadows. Science is shining bright (or shadowy!) in our classroom! ✨ @DNEAT_Academies

🐦 This week in Science, Yr 1 explored the world of birds! We learned about beaks, wings, feathers, and that not all birds can fly. Then we challenged ourselves to name as many birds as we could… and got 32! We finished with some outdoor bird spotting. @DNEAT_Academies

Despite the misty morning, our Yr 5 Bikeability group demonstrated great enthusiasm & skill as they practiced their cycling techniques & safety awareness. They are also developing important road safety knowledge to help them stay safe when cycling on the roads @DNEAT_Academies
