Context: My response was in reference about my prior disagreements on Twitter regarding content creators and their political opinions (regarding centrism). As for the Ukraine argument, to make it entirely clear, I have always been a staunch supporter of the Ukrainian cause, even prior to the initial invasion of Ukraine. The Russian government is a prime example of an authoritarian ethnostate that looks to slaughter those who disagree with it. I will never be able to meet family members of mine because they were killed by the Russian war machine decades ago, and, since 2022, to this day in Ukraine. To say I support the Russian government in any way is a disgusting sentiment, and I have done more than my fair share to generate positive change against the Russian genocide of Ukrainians. I have donated to both the Ukrainian military and humanitarian effort throughout my high school career and long after. I was the sole advocate and source of information for my peers on the Ukrainian struggle throughout school since 2022, voluntarily providing updates and keeping them informed. I assisted in running the Discord server “Ukraine War Reports” for months, solely to provide up-to-date information about and for Ukraine. I wholeheartedly believe I have caused genuine change in my community that would not have happened in the rural United States otherwise. Hell, for a time, a foolish high school me looked into joining the International Legion and fighting for the country, before realizing it was impossible. Do not lump me in with the psychopaths that support this genocide purely because I wish to cultivate my own internet experience by blocking people I feel are negative contributors, directing their hatred towards someone completely innocent who has not assisted the Russian cause. I entirely understand and empathize with the feelings of Ukrainians who are worried about their country, families, and friends, as they have every reason to be angry, but that does not mean I have to agree with it when I feel that anger and hatred are directed haphazardly and unproductively. I do not wish to turn this into a debate; my blocking was solely to cultivate an online experience that I felt was best for me on a topic I am passionate about. If you wish to use your time to attack another contributor to the cause, that is on you; otherwise: Slava Ukraini
