@Sriash99 The contact doesn't need to be big for that "flip" that's just physics. He gets contact on the lower body abd is no longer stepping on the ground, his upper body keeps forward causing the torque motion until something stops it. In fact "flipping" like that lessened the impact.

I still don't know how he flew like that. Enzo tried to stop, but there was a contact. But I don't know if the contact was big enough for getting flipped in air.

@GlobalFC5 It was not a red, it was a yellow. The red came because he had s previous yellow. The initial yellowxwas completely referee decision, it was for disputing the ref decision, which is not automatic yellow. The ref didn't have to call the yellow, Enzo didn't have to talk back.

Was that really not a red card? 🤬 From my perspective, it looked intentional. That decision changed the course of the match, and I believe the referee got it wrong. In my opinion, that moment ultimately cost us the game.😭 Football deserves consistent and fair officiating. What do you think?🥺

@horizontalviews @FrancisAwartefe VAR checked it, they only intervene if they see an error by the ref, which there wasn't. There was a step on the defender, which aside from it in itself being a foul affects his chance to participate on the play. The ref delayed the call in case VAR found otherwise.

I still can’t figure why Nico’s goal was disallowed. Even if Merino inadvertently stepped on Otamendi’s toes as he backed into the defender — not every contact is a foul. This is particularly so when a striker backs into a defender looking to shield the ball or roll a defender.

@ToddWysong24 @Footballtweet Nah, Messi didn't touch Spence, Otamendi was stepped on, unintentional but by the book foul. It was a matter if time fir Spain to score, would have been bad to tarnish Spain win by not calling that foul.
