The Viet Cong flamethrowered villagers. They were not uniformly good people. After North Vietnam conquered the south, they straight up murdered about 60,000 people in re-education camps and another 250,000 boat people died trying to escape the re-education camps.
The bad guys won the Vietnam War, and all my boomer buddies who look on the NVA and VC fondly are blind and deaf and retarded. That includes Lucas.
That said, the modern Vietnam are mostly not the evil and corrupt men that were committing the atrocities, and I'm sure they're unaware of those atrocities.

@pps43 Might be specific to combat engineers. 1 идр would be the 1st road construction company, ипр the fortification company, имр would be responsible for all the decoys. There's also a circled number on the other side of each helmet, which may or may not be a platoon marking, idk.

Today's "Odd Tank" is the 🇺🇦 Ukrainian 'BMP-1 Duplet'
Created in 2018, this vehicle was not intended for combat use and was only used for the Duplet turret's firing tests. The hull is a largely unmodified BMP-1.
The main armament consists of two 30mm ZTM-2 autocannons and four 'Barrier' ATGM's.

🇩🇪 The Bundestag budget committee has approved a budget of 747 million € for the procurement of 228 TPz NG (Patria CAVS) in three variants.
Of the 2028 vehicles, 10 are in the Swedish APC configuration, 170 in an engineering variant and 48 in a reconnaissance variant. In addition, 54 engineering and 14 recon variants are held in option.
The 10 APC models are to be delivered in January of 2026 with the engineering models being delivered by the end of 2027.
The recon variant is to start delivery by late 2028 and, unlike the APC and engineering models, is to be primarily produced in Germany by FFG and KNDS de.
