We are consuming our inheritance instead of investing in it. The painful irony is that many people who sold land years ago are now squatters on what was once their own ancestral land. Yet the cycle continues. If we do not change course, future generations will inherit stories instead of land, memories instead of wealth, and regret instead of opportunity. The tragedy will not be that outsiders took Acholi’s land. It will be that we willingly sold it, one transaction at a time. To every young man and woman, become the custodian of your family’s land, not the generation that signs it away. Buy more if you can. They manufacture cars, phones, and Bajajs every day. They do not manufacture land.
