After Trump announced a ceasefire in Lebanon, Iran opened the strait of Hormuz and Trump thanked them. Trump said that Israel is 'prohibited' from bombing Lebanon and Israel was shocked to hear that. Today, Israel bombed several infrastructures in southern Lebanon and the US refused to end its blockade on Iran and the IRGC has announced that the strait of Hormuz has been closed again. Now you can tell those that don't want peace and those that are actually looking for peace.

No one is holding local leadership accountable. And that's the leadership who have direct power to better our lives lie. Look at the Lekki Epe expressway for instance. Since the fix i barely get into traffic. Until we understand that 80% of our issues lie on our states. We will keep focusing on Abuja with little or no progress.
ZAHEER!@iam_YCee

Can’t lie this Olodo Uprising is really one of our biggest issues cos how in this day and age do you lack the least level of critical thinking ? Also we need a lot more young, sensible, well meaning Nigerians to be a lot more involved in the political landscape. You don’t have to be a POLITICIAN but get involved in the system. Start at the LGA levels. Hold your representatives accountable. Very soon that fence you’re sitting on will not be there anymore to even stand by.

@Mikeliberation 3,6,12.5 or 50 kg do take more than the standard capacity.. we have 3kg cylinder that will take 4kg or more of gas and on like that … although it’s not advisable to fill more than standard capacity especially for camping gas or cylinders that would be left under the sun

This morning, I went to refill my gas cylinder. It’s a new one—6kg. When it got to my turn, the sales girl released the air in the empty cylinder and asked how many kg I wanted. I told her to fill it up—6kg. 1kg is ₦1,300, so the total should be ₦7,800. She started filling it, but NEPA took light. So she went to turn on the generator, came back, and continued. Before the light went off, the dispenser was already reading ₦1,465. The sales girl then started pressing her calculator for almost 5 minutes. I even noticed her hands were shaking and sweating. I asked her what she was doing. She said she was trying to calculate how much had already entered the cylinder before the light went off. I told her it was simple—since I’m buying ₦7,800 worth of gas, she should subtract ₦1,465 from ₦7,800. She smiled and said thank you. That meant I had ₦6,335 left. But to my surprise, the dispenser didn’t stop at ₦7,800. It kept going. When it got to ₦8,800, I told her to stop because I didn’t understand what was going on anymore. That was when she said I would have to pay the extra money. I asked her, “If my cylinder is 6kg, and 6kg is ₦7,800, where is the extra gas entering?” She couldn’t answer. Then a man from behind stepped forward and said gas cylinders are not always the exact kg written on them—that my 6kg cylinder could actually take about 6.8kg or more. I was shocked because I had never heard that before. Then another woman in the queue said it was true. In the end, I paid ₦8,800 instead of ₦7,800 😥 Honestly, did they cheat me, or is that how it sometimes works?

@Acme_seo Well, for a start, there are different satellites serving different purposes. Who knows maybe they’ve been aiding the military but the military aren’t doing anything? It’s not the Space Program’s business to end banditry so…

Also, if you’re in Abuja, consider visiting NASRDA, located around Airport Road in Lugbe. Visitations are allowed into the national museum and costs just ₦4,000. That gets you access to the national museum, a guided tour covering Nigeria’s space program history, models of our orbiting satellites, immersive VR experiences, interactive games, and a collection of fascinating artifacts. Last time I was there, the lady at the receptionist was telling me about a sort of astronomy based python programming course that they offer, but I never followed up on it. So yeah, they’ve got so much to offer. Please pay them a visit, I beg you in the name of Artemis II. Space exploration is a wonderful and humbling experience and there’s so much to learn and know.

I totally understand you but Nigeria has a Space Program... and most people don’t even know how deep it goes. From launching satellites to planning human spaceflight this thread will surprise you. Nigeria runs its space missions through National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA). Established in 1999 and the goal was to put Nigeria on the global space map. Nigeria built her first satellite NigeriaSat-1 (2003). Although built in the UK and launched from Russia. But here’s the interesting part…NigeriaSat-1 wasn’t just for Nigeria. It joined the Disaster Monitoring Constellation and helping monitor floods, wildfires, and disasters worldwide. Nigeria is also a contributor to global space efforts. Even despite challenges, Nigeria didn’t stop there. More satellites followed: NigeriaSat-2 (high-resolution imaging) NigeriaSat-X (partly built by Nigerians ) NigComSat-1R (communications & internet) Not everything went smoothly by the way NigComSat-1 (2007) failed in orbit after about a year. But instead of stopping we came back stronger. In 2011, Nigeria launched NigComSat-1R, a replacement, better, improved system. That’s resilience most people don’t talk about. Here’s something you may find wild though Nigeria once planned to send an astronaut to space. Yes… a Nigerian in space. (It didn’t happen but the ambition was REAL.) So Nigeria is quietly using space tech daily: Communication (TV, internet), Agriculture monitoring, Mapping & GPS, Urban planning, Security You’re probably benefiting without realizing it. Nigeria has satellites in space but doesn’t launch rockets (yet). Launches are done via Russia, China, etc. Nigeria’s space story is just getting started. And one day… We might see 🇳🇬 launching rockets from its own soil. Maybe in our lifetime or not.
