Please do share the first of several publications from our findings of the @DiabetesUK funded #UNBIASED national study, which addresses a pressing issue of health inequalities in access to diabetes technologies for individuals living with #Type1 #diabetes in the UK. Key Highlights: 1️⃣ Bridging the Digital Divide This national study explores the impact of ethnicity and socioeconomic deprivation on access to diabetes technologies such as continuous glucose monitors #CGMs #pumps #HCls (hybrid closed loops). By understanding these disparities, the study aims to shape inclusive solutions that ensure equitable care for all, regardless of background. 2️⃣ Healthcare Professionals' Perspectives A dedicated qualitative study delves into the views of healthcare professionals, offering crucial insights into barriers faced by children and young people #CYP from under-represented groups. These perspectives are key to designing strategies that dismantle inequities and promote universal access to life-changing technologies. Key Findings: Persistent Inequities: Without targeted interventions, technology inequities are likely to persist among CYP from the most and least deprived areas and from white and ethnic minority groups in the United Kingdom. 3️⃣ Out Soon will be the perspectives from our Children, Young People and Families and Key recommendations 🔷 Open access articles here: onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/dm… onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/dm…
