This is one of four greyhounds being kept in a Greyhound Racing lreland GRI licensed-kennel in Parteen, Clare. The anti-bark muzzle clamps the mouth shut and stops the dog crying or barking. The GRI Welfare Officer has said he is happy with the condition of these dogs.

This is the reply people are getting from the lrish Greyhound Board's Welfare Officer Barry Coleman when they write to express concern about the welfare of the dogs in Clare. Those who run this rotton industry care nothing about the welfare of the dogs they so shamefully exploit.

Last week Greyhound Racing lreland said it was happy with the condition of these dogs. This week the dogs are wearing anti-bark muzzles which clamp their mouths shut to stop them barking or crying. This is the barbarism that lrish taxpayers' money is paying for. @martinheydonfg

This kip is a Greyhound Racing lreland (GRI) licensed 'kennel'. A neighbour contacted a local animal rescue 2 weeks ago reporting constant cries coming from it. They reported it to GRI, because the greyhound industry investigates itself when it comes to cruelty. Read next post!

If those who run greyhound racing had a problem with cruelty to dogs, they wouldn't be running greyhound racing. This is an activity where animal abusers fit right in.

Two of our closest neighbours - Wales and Scotland - have both banned greyhound racing in the past 48 hours. Only in lreland, England, mainland Australia and the US state of West Virginia does it remain legal to abuse the gentle greyhound for the sake of a bet.

News: The Senedd has today voted in favour of protecting greyhounds in Wales from the harms of racing. The Bill will prohibit greyhound racing in Wales.

Meanwhile in lreland, this cruelty-fest continues to receive 20 million from the public purse every year. Despite the annual killing of 1000s of unwanted dogs, the death and injury of 100s more on the track, the doping, the exports to Asia etc. Utterly shameful!
