Ok Let’s talk about eSIM locked phones ( Wi-Fi only ) What are they? Why are they cheaper ? How do they work? Are they good or bad? ★ Esim locked phones ( Wi-Fi only ) are phones produced purposely to work with a particular SIM card ( eg mtn ) so any other SIM card won’t work inside. So the locked there only means it is locked to use a particular company’s SIM card. Telecommunication companies in USA meet apple to to produce phone for them in which only their network will work with it. So most of the eSIM locked phones belongs to either Verizon, T-Mobile, at & t. This simply means mtn for example can meet apple to produce iPhone that only mtn cards will work inside, when airtel or glo is inserted, it’ll show no service. ★ Why are they cheaper ? They’re cheaper here in Nigeria in the sense that our Nigerian SIM card can’t work inside, so it has no much relevance to most people, due to the uncomfortable nature of not using SIM card in them. ★ How do you use them? All you need to do is connect the phone to hotspot maybe with your other android phone or iPhone, or you use Wi-Fi ( that’s why we tag it as Wi-Fi only ). So just connect your hotspot, sign in your iCloud, download all your apps and if you need any too to set up your WhatsApp and the rest, the codes will be sent to your other phone and you just type it on th eSIM locked phone and everything will work. The phone is exactly like normal iPhone, no difference, just that you won’t use sim. You can do your normal WhatsApp call and the rest, but no normal phone call, that’s it. ★ Why do you need them ? A lot of content creators needs the latest iPhone for better camera shootings and higher storage, some people wants to hold the latest iPhone but they don’t have enough money, some people wants a phone for gaming that won’t lag, so these locked phones are very advantageous for them because instead of K1ll1ng themselves hunting for 2.2 million naira for physical + eSIM 17 pro max 256gb, or hunting for 1.950 million naira for 17 pro max 256gb eSIM unlocked, they can get the eSIM locked for 1,350 million ₦ only or 1.250 million ₦ only for the pro ( I have them all incase you want to buy.
