The proof arrived for our “Barriers to Healthcare” paper. Three & a half years work. Hard to believe we’re finally getting this one over the line. It’s a tough read but will explain at least in part why we have such awful healthcare outcomes.

Masking is not one size fits all. If I seem neurotypical to you, it's not necessarily that I'm masking, it can just be that I am not engaged, or that my subroutines are keeping me from seeming like myself (IE, I'm half here, half in some fantasy location, documenting a war).

Is there a "no body" rule where autistic people need to work in a room with nobody observing them and in an environment completely controlled by themself? I'm significantly less burnt out because of working remotely for this reason.

“Autism can mean genius or an IQ below 30… (&) can mean highly verbal or nonverbal”. The term “profound autism” has not been embraced by all but we do need to find accepted terminology to subgroup, just to provide appropriate support & to improve research spectrumnews.org/opinion/viewpo…

You know where Planned Ignoring leads? Children turn into insecure adults who think that when you can't give them attention because you're busy, tired etc. it must be about them, like you're doing it on purpose to punish them.
