UPDATE: Three Fatalities and Several Injuries Following a Building Collapse cityofboise.org/news/fire/2024…

Emergency responders are on scene of a reported building collapse at W. Rickenbacker St. and Luke Street. There are reports of multiple injuries. The Boise Airport is not impacted. More information will be available here as it is confirmed.

Drivers should expect snowy and slippery roads for the rest of the day, as the temp isn't expected to get more than a degree or two over freezing. So please give yourself some extra time to get where you are going — and pack some extra patience if possible.

Just an FYI for drivers getting ready to go out this morning. Most of Ada County is covered in dense fog, from Boise west to Ontario, with visibility of a 1/4 mile or less. So driving will likely be slow going until late this morning.

The first significant snowfall of the season (1.5 inches measured at the Boise Airport) resulted in a slippery commute in Ada County this morning. As of 11 a.m., dispatch received reports of 59 traffic crashes and 22 slide-offs since midnight. More snow is possible this afternoon
