@ripmossgarden @zootzkii If you aren't being cruel, vapid, body shaming, cultivating spaces for people that only look like you, and are part of the fandom for something more then just getting attention for being fit/hot at the expense of anything else...then probably not?

Said it many times, I'll say it again. The influx of young. vapid, super fit, body image obcessed furries the last 3 or 4 years is a bad omen for body acceptance in this community. People gotta get ahead of it and work to shut this shit down, or the fandom will come to regret it.

@RykerKemono Body positivity doesn't mean promoting/encouraging bad health outcomes. It's about caring for the psychological well-being of those around you enough to not create environments of cruelty where people feel ostracized and unwanted because they don't fit into narrow body standards.

@AdagusTheGoat But you really shouldn't accept your body if you're obese. Trust me, I was 306.5 lbs before the oilfield and it's a miserable way to live. Now, you shouldn't hate yourself, but body acceptance has parameters and health markers that should be strives for.

Everyone saying how amazing LVFC was makes me laugh because it's people slowly and simultaneously realizing that a con is better when it has something, anything, to do during the day (the pool) that isn't wandering around and hoping you can strike up a series of 5 minute convos.

@shreddyfox Biggest change in last like 4 years I think is a huge influx of really lean or muscular young people into a space (furry) that traditionally hasn't had a ton of that, and they don't realize how important overall body acceptance is in this community. It's not great, bad trend.

It is so true, many people ive known throughout my life haved suffered from crippling depression at one point or another and I'd say 85% of the time it is related to not having enough money for bills or resources. Money, up to a point, absolutely equals happiness.
