Feeling great fullness today

I heard from a former client who has 7 months sober & has two sponsee’s, & this morning I heard from a former client whose celebrating one year today. What a gift that they see me as part of their success. This work could be emotionally tolling at times, but man, SO REWARDING!

I’ve been working as a case manager & group facilitator at a rehab for 18 months now. I’m grateful to be part of someone’s sobriety journey; even if they don’t remain sober after leaving treatment (It definitely took me more than 1 rehab stint to get sober). But yesterday….

Wow! That movie was FUCKIN SAD!!! But also really understated. They didn’t shove the sadness in your face or spoon-feed it to you. There was a lot of quiet feelings expressed non-verbally; guilt, shame, confusion..but through a pre-adolescent lens. Go see this one in a theatre!
