If it wasn’t for a lack of fitness this would have been a comfy 3:0. Really liked our approach, the subs, setup, patience. Also the first time we handled the pressure like champions would (maybe fluidity is a detergent to nerves).

BELIEF.

I know Saka should've done better here but why do you think he did not play that pass? For his whole professional career as an attacker at Arsenal; Saka has played with CFs who would be behind the behind the ball in this moment. Where I've marked the 'X' Both Jesus & Havertz love to drop deep so they're hardly ever in these positions. Has Saka completed a similar pass before? Obviously he has. But more often than not he's used to cutting the ball back in this instance. Thats his normal instinct and there's nothing wrong with that when he's playing with a False 9 profile But with Gyokeres there needs to be a 2 way adaptation. As I've said multiple teams. Many positive signs about Gyok's general play yesterday, topped off with an assist where he ran into space, help up the ball, attracted 4 defenders before laying it off to Zubimendi The team has to adapt back. Gyok was visibly frustrated when Saka didn't cross the ball here as any CF would be. Time and time again he finds himself in these situations but the ball never arrives. Arteta echoed the same sentiment when in his post match interview This is a simple pass to the center of the box and a tap-in goal for the Arsenal. Its just about building chemistry between our attackers. Passes like these won't be an issue once everything clicks
