My experience building operational software brought me to one clear conclusion: AI will not just improve these firms It will completely change how they operate That is why I started AIM We are building an agentic operating system for professional services Most firms still run on email, spreadsheets, cloud drive folders, manual checklists, disconnected systems, and people carrying critical process knowledge in their heads That model worked when software was only there to help people manage the work But AI changes the requirement If agents are going to execute real work, they need more than a chat window They need access to the firm’s operating context They need permissions They need files They need documents They need workflows They need clients, entities, contacts, emails, calendars, tasks, approvals, signatures, and audit trails They need to operate inside the system where the work actually happens That is what we are building A foundational system layer for business operations: mailbox, calendar, chat, file management, client requests, document management, proposals, signatures, exports, password protection, permissions, access control, and operational records Then a workflow layer on top: where firms can define how work should happen, configure approval points, decide where humans are required, and allow AI agents to execute parts of the process safely The direction is simple: Soon, a firm should be able to drop in its SOP, and AIM should help turn it into a structured operational workflow That workflow can then run manually, with humans in the loop, or increasingly through AI agents with the right guardrails Not AI beside the work AI inside the work The reason this matters is context and control The firms that win with AI will not be the ones with the best prompt templates They will be the ones that give agents the right operating system to work inside We are starting with audit and assurance, where the complexity is high, the need for control is real, and the opportunity is massive We already have traction with audit firms Now we are looking to scale rapidly If you are building in AI, professional services, audit, workflow automation, or private equity, I would love to connect

Sometimes wonder if we’re still trying to solve a 2026 problem with a 1996 economic model. The global economy is changing fast: - AI is reshaping work, - remote work is global, - digital businesses scale quickly, - creators become companies, - small teams can now build massive products. Meanwhile, many young South Africans are still being told the only path is: school > CV > job application > hope. That model alone is probably not enough anymore. South Africa doesn’t just need more jobs. We need: - more builders, - more digital entrepreneurs, - more global thinking, - more access to international markets, and an environment where small businesses can grow fast without all the red tape. The future economy may belong to countries that adapt quickest to the digital world. Not just those with the biggest industries.
