I am the first name in pardon and rights restoration. Together, we can close old doors and open new ones. Compassionate, discrete, and rad as hell.

SATURDAY MORNING CARTOONS: TED TURNER TRIBUTE POST.
Ted Turner’s Channel 17 introduced me to all of the following: Looney Tunes, Fleischer Cartoons, The Three Stooges and Our Gang/Little Rascals.
In 1970, Ted Turner bought the struggling independent Atlanta station WJRJ-TV (Channel 17), a money-losing UHF outlet. He renamed it WTCG (for Turner Communications Group) and turned it around with a mix of old movies, classic sitcom reruns, cartoons, and sports (especially Atlanta Braves baseball games, which he acquired rights to in 1972).
On December 17, 1976, Turner made broadcasting history by uplinking WTCG's signal to the RCA Satcom 1 satellite. It became America's first "superstation"—a local independent TV station distributed nationally via satellite to cable systems. Locally in Atlanta it was still Channel 17, but nationally it was promoted as SuperStation 17, Super 17, or later SuperStation WTBS.
This model proved cable could thrive on non-network content and helped popularize satellite distribution for TV. It was a key step toward modern basic cable. Turner used the superstation's reach and revenue to launch CNN in 1980 along with other networks.
Superstation 17/WTBS/TBS revolutionized TV by showing a local station could go national, paving the way for cable's explosion in the 1980s and beyond. Many people (especially in the South and rural areas without strong broadcast signals) fondly remember it for Braves games, late-night movies, and comfort-food reruns. It was a bold, disruptive idea from a young TedTurner that helped build his media empire and change how Americans watched television.
Channel 17 ran a morning kids block seven days a week that featured all of the pictured, and as a 🫡 to Ted I’m running selections from these four discs this AM (including the new Blu-ray of the Fleischer stuff), attempting to recreate a treasured part of my childhood. RIP, my dude.

@dustinrhodes Right on, my brother. It certainly can get that way sometimes. Prayer, positive thinking, and trying to focus on other people, not yourself, always helpful. I started transcendental meditation about 4 months ago, as well, and have found it very helpful in evening things out.

Have you ever been so overwhelmed that u feel like you're suffocating? That was me all last week. We build up stuff so big, and then, nothing. All in your head. I know there is a stigma on male mental health, but I don't give a shit. Your mental health matters. Also, most times, nothing is as it seems. Just breathe and take a time out. Pray!!
#MentalHealthMatters #KeepSteppin even when you feel vulnerable.
Ps- guys, it doesn't make you a weak bitch to talk about mental health!🤘🏼

My thoughts go out to Tulsi Gabbard and her family, as her husband battles this serious health problem. I hope and pray that he makes a speedy and full recovery.
While the circumstances around her departure are deserving of our sympathy, let’s be clear: Tulsi Gabbard’s only positive contribution to our nation's national security is her resignation.
She politicized intelligence. She dismantled critical agencies keeping Americans safe. She weaponized the IC to pursue baseless election fraud claims. And more.
We must ensure that her tenure — marked by a devotion to the person of the president and not to the security of the country — represents a terrible exception at DNI and not the new normal.

As evidenced by the unbridled promotion and implementation of technology at the expense of human dignity, we are truly experiencing an eclipse of the sense of what it means to be human. It is imperative to recover an understanding of the true meaning and grandeur of humanity as intended by God. It is in this sense that the challenge we currently face is not technological, but anthropological, and it is my hope that the Encyclical Letter to be published within a few days will contribute to answering this challenge.

@bravoschmps21 @BuckSexton This was pretty great, that first episode. They might have lost me with season 2, though. The lives of so many ruined by dumb teens playing Scooby Doo and destroying the place and no one even looks at them like, “the heck, kid who looks like Justin Trudeau?”

@DonInBrookfield @BuckSexton Couldn’t get through the first episode. Not for me!
