Excellent article and thread. This debate has - like many societal issues - become so polarised that it seems almost surprising that someone who is, in principle, in favour of assisted dying could have concerns about the nuances and complexities around it.
As a taxpayer (irrespective of whether you’re a scientist) would you would be in favor of more of the @NIH budget going to fund efforts to solve specific diseases at the expense of basic exploratory research? Which diseases?
