I know you're not asking me, but I had a similar response to yours. My opinion is that America First and even Make America Great Again are party agnostic, but have been co-opted by Trump (and his voter base) because of his marketing expertise. America first has been a staple of both parties for decades, and even "MAGA" predates Donald Trump's political career by 30+ years. Trump didn't create the phrase, he simply took a phrase used by Ronald Reagan and the Clintons before Trump came around. Yet somehow it became both a Pro Trump call sign and an Anti Trump slur because the culture wars have become more important to far too many people in this country than what's actually being done to all of us by both sides in our current corrupt 2-party system.
