@nj_401 @RobertStock6 Haha no its not. You dont pay that kind of money for travel ball for kids to be kids. If you want them to be kids just play in the local league
English

@AddictedHoosier @RobertStock6 they’re fucking kids man its about more than optimizing performance
English

If you can throw mid 80s in the strike zone, you’re going to make every varsity high school team in the US and you don’t have to ever travel further than 30min to learn how to do that.
Jason Helmes@anymanfitness
Bad news, dude: If your kid doesn’t play travel/AAU they have no chance of playing varsity in high school. Only exceptions would be small, rural schools without many players to choose from. Any decent sized high school, every kid on varsity plays travel.
English

@TaylorLewan77 As long as you dont crack it to sell it raw im good with that.
English

@RR_Cards I was wrong it was the Uptown not the downtown.
English

@AddictedHoosier Fair enough. I’m not a fan of PSA either. Good decision overall
English

Saw this collector spend $5.97 at Walmart, rip a mystery pack, and pull a Drake Maye Kaboom… now it’s headed to PSA.
Stories like this are why we’re all still in it — one pack can change the PC or the bank account
.
What’s the cheapest pack you’ve ever pulled a banger from?

English

@RR_Cards Try to dump it while the product was still hot before chrome came out. I didnt want to wait 6 months for psa to grade it snd then give me a 9.
English

@AddictedHoosier Why not grade it? Prolly could have doubled your money
English

@sc0nesandc0ffee @PokeTeeJay Target systematically limits you from buying more than 2.....I know ive tried.
English

None of my local stores impose limits (signs are up but no one cares) and my local restocker at Walmart calls all his friend so they’re there when he’s putting them out to buy them up.
Two things could (potentially) fix this:
1) Pokemon company over-saturating the market and making cards worthless that way.
2) People completely stop buying for over MSRP period.
Neither are likely to happen. Specifically the second one.
English

@XandersQuest_ @PokeTeeJay Yeah but you have to know you arent a desirable customer to them if u just buy boxes and nothing else. Chances you buy something else in the store us much higher.
English

@PokeTeeJay Hmmm.
But would force people to actually go to a store.
Rip those who work mornings.
Or those who dont care enough about the tcg to go to target and get product.
I myself have never gone to a store to seek out product. I get what I can online.
English

@GregHoytLET @PokeTeeJay Exactly this they want the basket size. They track all of those metrics to look at a customer.
English

@PokeTeeJay The business perspective on the retail side of things is the in-store draw: big box stores make very little on cards, but welcome them due to minimal shelf space and the draw for other potential purchases. Limits actually behoove them because it translates into more bodies.
English

@PokeTeeJay Thats not actually true. They will look at the basket size and the person coming in ans buying 20 mega boxes snd nothing else isnt the ideal state. They want the person coming in to pickup a box and then drop $100 across other products in the store like I did Friday
English

@PokeTeeJay They also need people in their stores, so seems like the best move for them. Randomly replenish and make sure customers know they will randomly drop more out there
English

@AndrewVotech44 @CardPurchaser 12 boxes in and havent come close to a good hit. Maybe the next box for me......lol
English

Opened another Mega box and pulled my second Ultra Violet! Have a Cam Ward and Bijan Robinson now. Megas have been good to me @CardPurchaser

English

@stelzner_n1150 Just say you dont live in a desirable area of town.
English

@vancemeek Yeah shaq would do great covering the 3 point line....lol
Basketball the only sport that magically hasn't advanced......ok
English

@AddictedHoosier No it wouldn't. However, guys like Charles Oakley, Hakeem Olajuwon, David Robinson, prime Shaq would eat today's players alive and have thrm crying.
English

Meanwhile, put 92 era Jordan in the modern era where nobody plays defense and he'd average 40 a night.
Longfellow Deeds@Mr_Deeds3
@vancemeek YouTube and hardwood classics. I’ve seen that BS ass expansion league shit ball
English

@vancemeek That skill level would get run out of the gym today.
English

@AddictedHoosier Lol. The 92 dream team would wipe the floor with the best 15 from today.
English

@vancemeek Got it but no one plays defense today.....ok. you just dont think they play defense today because they are all so skilled. They arent playing plumbers like Jordan did
English

@AddictedHoosier Hed adapt to the game, just like everyone today would have to adapt to 90s basketball if they were taken back in time.
English

@RobertStock6 Exactly this. Do you think the kid has a better chance to throw 80 by traveling all over the country and pitching every so often. Or staying at home and locking into a training program every day to get stronger and better mechanics??
English

@vancemeek Stat needs would tell him to stop taking pull up jumpers and shoot 3s now. He'd pull up busted from 3 and hed have to hit the bench
English

@mtntallpaul Correct that younger generation was bullied by society to get worthless degrees. Then the Sallie Mae if the world preyed on that
English

We didn't make stupid choices.
We didn't take out student loans for useless degrees.
scar@imfat
Older generations say “we all struggled in our 20s.” No, you didn’t. You didn’t pay $3,100 rent and $10 eggs. You didn’t graduate with $60K debt and no job security. Gen Z isn’t dramatic. They’re drowning.
