The workshop is to brainstorm achievements and lessons from HoA-CCP intervention landscapes during the last four years and propose future activities.

The Horn of Africa Regional Environment Center and Network (HoA-REC&N), is running a three day Horn of Africa Climate Change program (HoA-CCP) harvest workshop at Gullele Botanic Garden. The workshop was kicked off today February 26, 2019.

#AAU Addis Ababa University launched Handbook of the Ethiopian Economy which is the first ever Oxford Handbook on a single African country.

AAU ranked 887th in the world and 16th in Africa improving its world rank from 1003rd last year (2017/18) to 887th in 2018/19 university ranking by academic performance and from 19th to 16th in Africa.

AAU promoted six scholars to the rank of full professorship. Prof. Hirut Woldemariam, Prof. Teferi Gedif, Prof. Miruts Gidey, Prof. Hagos Ashenafi, Prof. Merera Gudina and Prof. Getachew Asefa.

IPSS of #AAU and Global Public Policy Institute of Germany organized Fishbowl discussion on preventing conflict in Ethiopia and Africa using early warning and taking early action at the AU, on 30th January 2019.

Prof. Tassew Woldehanna, AAU President, received H.E. Osama Abdelkhalek, Ambassador of Egypt to Ethiopia and Permanent representative to the AU and UN ECA at his office this morning and held talks on promoting mutual relations between AAU and Egypt Universities.

Addis Ababa University conferred Doctor of Letters Honoris Causa up on Professor Asmerom Legesse, the pioneer of Gada studies.

H.E Mr. Daisuke Matsunaga, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Ethiopia and Dr Dawit Wondemagegn, CEO of CHS signed the agreement of behalves of Embassy of Japan and AAU.

The signing ceremony for “The Project for Improving Neurology Department and Emergency Department Medical Equipment of Black Lion Hospital in Addis Ababa” through the Japanese Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects was held on 14 December 2018

A grant contract for a total of USD 137,187 was signed between the Embassy of Japan and the Addis Ababa University, College of Health Sciences.

Prof. Zerihun Woldu, AAU Research and Technology Transfer Vice President welcomed delegates from LUISS, Italy, and held discussion on future potential cooperation.

Prof. Tasssew W/Hanna, AAU President met with Terence Jagger, Chair of Governors of Bath Spa University, today Nov. 30, 2018 and conferred on potential cooperation. Prof. Tassew and Mr. Terence Jagger also signed memorandum of understanding for future cooperation.
