Most Irrelevant thing in trading is giving too much levy to after hours price. I heard too much noise about $SOFI And then there is $SOFI in regular hours Retail spends too much energy in proving their point. all they have to do is wait for market open and hear it from the price. Something I spent too much time in early days looking at after hours price action.

While people are focused on trying to find the best strategy, indicator, rule book and timeframe. I am going to share what it took me years to learn in early part of my career as a trader: 1. Your strategy is only as good as you. You are the main player in your strategy, you need to be in tune with how you operate under different market conditions and understand the conditions which are best suited for your strategy. No strategy will be a perfect fit for all conditions. Not possible to achieve. 2. Your indicator is only as good as its user. You can throw 10 indicators and still lose, or you can have 1 indicator and win. Indicators act as a guide, helping hand to provide you with additional confidence. There were times my indicator would tell me to exit but my personal BIAS would start convincing myself to twist the reality of the indicator and add more indicators until I found the one which resonated with my BIAS. For example: 9 times out of 10 the $1000 loss would be $5000 and I would be caught up in the trade for a lot longer than I was initially prepared for. Retail mentality of looking for THE PERFECT indicator is usually them looking for a crysal ball, it does not exist. You can still score big with a indicator with 50% win rate vs a indicator with 90% win rate. WHY? Answer is simple- A 90% win rate indicator might just be a buy and hold so you go through the drawdowns meanwhile the 50% win rate indicator actively trades both sides of the trade helping compound the wins. 3. Rulebook and Timeframe There are 100s of thousands of people here who all brag about how their rulebook is the best. I dont think rulebook is ever designed to fix one box. Everyone has different strategies, conditions of entry/ exits, risk tolerance, objectives and timeframe. Someone with a $1 million dollar account would need a small return and still be happy while someone with a smaller account is determined to score big as a 5% win on $5000 account might not seem much to them. Similarly the timeframe of trading is different for everyone- People who are day trading would be bullish on downtrending stock for a few days meanwhile a swing trader who wants to hold the stock might get stuck bagholding due to the influencer they follow on Social Media. Now I have one strategy. I ace'd my strategy and still evolving it with the market. I understood the flaws it has and use it to my advantage of "not golfing when its raining out". I dont focus on strategies others are posting like ICT, EW theory etc. I always look at it this way- Let them drive a Ford, GMC and I will drive a Tesla. Everyone has a preference and thing suits them, I will follow the one which suits me :) All in all, my message to everyone is simple: A) Pick a strategy which interests you. Define the strategy, build upon it, test it out, refine it on an ongoing basis. B) Sit down and figure out your timeframe. Key component of picking timeframe involves figuring out how active you want to be and does your day to day capacity allows you that. C) Follow people who are going towards the same destination as you. Simple. Effective. Truth 💯
