🇫🇷 If I’m Liverpool I’m making a move to sign Jeremy Jacquet in the January window.
Only 20-years-old but he is such an exciting centre-back already.
Since breaking into Rennes he has only gotten better and better.
Jacquet is pretty much everything you want in a modern day centre-back.
He’s fast, has great athleticism with long legs that enables him in all forms of defending. Whether it’s making key interceptions, decisive blocks or last-ditch sliding tackles.
His athleticism shows through in his ability to cover a lot of ground. He is a defender full of energy and zeal. Great at defending the channels and covering a lot of zones on the pitch.
Combine that with a great understanding for the game and ability to anticipate danger (he ranks 2nd among Ligue 1 CBs for PAdj interceptions - 7.57 per 90) as well as strong aerial prowess (won 71% of his aerial duels this season) he’s exactly what Liverpool are missing in that RCB position.
On the ball, he’s composed, deals well under pressure and he’s a solid vertical passer. Generally excellent at switching the ball. Has one of the best long passes accuracies (63.5%) among CBs who average at least 3.5 long passes per 90 in Ligue 1 this calendar year.
If Liverpool move to a back three he’s got experience of playing in that system as well, but he can play in a back four as an RCB and LCB.
At 20-years-old there’s just so much to like. It’s hard to find a better option. Especially when he’s available for €40m.

Angelo took us to two playoff's in two years and managed to win promotion on the second try, whilst also winning the Essex Senior Cup too in his first season! The Board subsequently agreed to ask First Team Coach Justin Moseley to assist as interim manager. 🗣️ Chairman Lee Harding explained the decision "We have been talking with Angelo since the start of the season and the Board have decided it is time for a change to safeguard the Club's future.
