🌳🧵Can you tell the difference between politicians who care about nature recovery and those who'll just back business as usual? Here are 6 questions I'll be asking #GeneralElection candidates when they appear at my door.

🌊 In a month’s time I’m swimming the English Channel! 🏊🏻‍♀️ In the process I’m raising money for @MaggiesCentres who have done amazing work in supporting members of my family. Every donation counts! Join me in making a difference: justgiving.com/page/adele-ben…

Could the Darwin Oak become another Sycamore Gap? It’s time for us to stop sacrificing these iconic trees. Make the right decision @ShropCouncil #livinglegends

@DanicaPriest The skills and qualities you demonstrate in your campaigning are, no doubt, some of the things that will make you great in your work. There’s incredible strength in what you do and I doubt your employer would be looking to get rid of you anytime soon! Keep up the amazing work!

Another example of why we urgently need proper protection for our heritage trees. This is a rare mature elm survivor & might have important genetics for this enigmatic species. If it were a building it would likely be Grade II* listed & development would have to be built round it
James Abbott@JamesAbbott2013

Regret to report the campaign by myself & colleagues to save #Witham Lynfield Elm has failed. Despite surviving Dutch Elm Disease & decades of being on an island between busy roads, the tree is doomed 'thanks' to developers & failure of #Essex County Council to spot that (1/2)

On Saturday we had an inspiring day with our Evolving Conservation Leaders and some of the mentors who support the programme. Our morning discussions, led by Becky Park, centred around the need for resilience when you are working in conservation.

Horrific. We need better protection for these pillars of natural heritage.

I'll be using the opportunity to fundraise for Maggie's, a cancer care charity that is close to the hearts of myself and my family. If you are in a position to donate, any contribution you can make would be welcome: justgiving.com/page/adele-ben…

Whilst I try not to post about my personal life on here, I think I can be allowed an exception! In June 2024 I'll be swimming the legendary English Channel, a whole 21 miles or so in 16-degree water. It's a natural progression to build on my swims of the last few years.

The Helford - where trees meet the ocean. Feels an appropriate way to mark the end of an era and the start of something a bit different. Campaigning at the @WoodlandTrust has been a dream, but I can't wait to get stuck in at @OceanaUK in a couple of weeks 🌳🌊 #NewJob

Progress doesn’t look like destructive new roads and sewage strewn in rivers. It’s thriving meadows, ancient trees left to retrench, and wildlife having an opportunity to succeed.
