@Adetimih Well That's your choice. But it's a common trend now for people to denigrate the uniqueness of their profession just to look like someone else. Like a Nurse denigrating VITAL SIGNS check.or Urine output monitoring,Caring for a Pxt For me that's doing ur profession more harm

What does it even mean when you say an MLS does more than just Do tests? isnt dt an insult on the ability to even do dt test? Is being able to manage the sample, do the tests not an important Role? The only time you feel important is when you claim to do the Pathologists work?

You’ve used appendicitis as an example. Quick question: How can you tell a patient is suffering from Pluralibacter gergoviae infection either of wound or bloodstream? Do you just take Hx and clinical diagnosis and say “you’re suffering from this or that? Tell me
9-9@SantanStan1

@kwakukhing_ He was trying to emphasize the importance of clinical knowledge. With rigorous examination, proper history taking and clinical reasoning, you don’t need scans and labs for a lot of things. He’s Cuban and being able to function in a resource depleted setting is big to them.

I know it's your daily ragebaits towards medical doctors but I will indulge you this morning. Before labs even existed, Medicine wasn’t just guesswork. Careful history taking and physical examination are structured, evidence based skills. Entire fields like Clinical Medicine and Physical Examination are built on patterns that have been validated over decades. For example, you can strongly suspect appendicitis or meningitis from history and exam alone long before labs confirm it. And before a medical doctor would send a patient for labs it's just to confirm an already informed diagnosis and treatment but this isn't to say lab diagnostics isn't a critical care in patient management

Are you really a HCW in Nigeria if a doctor at some point has never accused you of coming for their job? Nurses oo, Pharmacist oo, Physiotherapist oo, MLS, Radiographers, Dieticians all of us dey collect these accusations on a daily basis.

@Sir_Ousman @blitz_visuals @PreciousOrla Don't stress yourself. We would modify medicine scheme. Doctors will start carrying out this procedures themselves We'll run the labs and find a name to call it. Then tag it upgrade. That's the only way this people will learn to practice within their scope

Med Lab Scientists are human too, the lab might be locked, but if you knock, the person in the call room will wake up and receive your sample. If it's an emergency and it's urgent they'll run it and give you your result.
tohomdet@0xpanan

We should be a bit truthful o, this is center specific, at 3 a.m most labs are padlocked and it is until morning before you can submit the blood. even if you manage to submit EUCR you are not getting the result until the next day. Creatinine will also not be done

We can tell tests that might not be necessary because the curriculum of an MLS covers disease conditions, clinical Diagnosis as well as the appropriate tests, interpretation and what to do if the results are out of range.
Parfait Physician@Fabian_Aniorji

@Softmedic Experience, continuous learning and knowledge about disease is good But you did not answer the questions.

If we are being honest scrubs are meant for people in the theatre and doing surgeries, the surgeons If I ever become a CMD of any teaching hospital, this is one of the peripheral things I will fix Nurses will go back to their white gown and their cap(if someone dresses like this there is no way you will mistake them for a pilot or an engineer or a doctor) Medlab scientist(lab coat) Ward coat and cooperate for other clinicians with their name and title boldly written on it. Scrubs for the surgeons In a world where it’s difficult to identify healthcare workers we could make things easier You as an Optometrist now enh what are you wearing scrub for..? If we are being honest, we are the ones complicating these things for ourselves
Dr. Peculiar Idiagbonya@DrPeculiar_I

You see someone in scrubs and just assume? Not every woman in scrubs is a nurse Not every man in scrubs is a doctor There are many professions in healthcare Ask before you assume.
