@umedpratapsingh Some insight from my Dad who was a class 1 LIC officer back in the late 90's. It's got everything to do with union negotiations. LIC union negotiated on basic pay. Bank union negotiated on the allowances. This effect compounded over several pay revisions and here we are.

LIC's AAO has higher basic pay than scale 3 officer of public sector banks. While, AAO is an entry level officer job, it will take 6-10 years for a PO in PSBs to become scale 3 officer. How did LIC pull this off, whereas PSBs and other insurance companies couldn't.
