🚲 vs 🚶‍♀️ The association with coronary stenosis appeared somewhat stronger for cycling (OR 0.86; 95% CI 0.78–0.95) than for walking (OR 0.89; 95% CI 0.79–1.01).

In our SCAPIS study, active commuting was associated with 13% lower odds of coronary stenosis (OR 0.87; 95% CI 0.80–0.94) and 7% lower odds of coronary artery calcification (OR 0.93; 95% CI 0.86–1.00) vs car commuting.

Cardiorespiratory fitness (CRF) is a vital sign per the American Heart Association but is still rarely measured. We have validated the International Fitness Scale (IFIS) in adults with T2D, showing it’s a valid tool for high-risk patients 📊journals.plos.org/plosone/articl…

This association was particularly evident for systolic BP, with an increased risk beginning at values as low as 120 mmHg.
