I don't think I have found a better way to practice self-love than going to the gym 3x a week and eating clean.
It works because it is hard to do. You need a lot of discipline. It is not just about dragging yourself to work out. You have to change your whole life if you want to build strength. What you eat, how much you rest. It's an every day thing.
Self-love is not just getting a spa, getting your nails or hair done. Those things are nourishing too and make me very happy but they are better looked at as a quick fix. You can pull yourself out of a bad mood by doing any of those things.
But a work out routine builds self-respect. Doing hard things builds self-respect which is an integral part of self-love.

thinking like this will destroy your life
there are millions of things to do every single day. places to visit. books to read. people to meet. things to build. foods to try
childlike curiosity is the ultimate quality of life characteristic that improves all areas of your life

“I tell the rogues to read, read, read, read, read. Those who read own the world; those who immerse themselves in the internet or watch too much television lose it... Our civilization is suffering profound wounds because of the wholesale abandonment of reading by contemporary society.”
— Werner Herzog
