DEEPLY frustrating that the 2026 World Cup Final won't be at the Azteca. Look at it. It's a football cathedral.

FIFA's president can invent a farcical peace prize to flatter the ego of the president of the United States and spend months pandering to his political project, but Haiti's national team can't acknowledge their national struggle for independence because it's too "political"
Polymarket FC@PolymarketFC

🚨 BREAKING! 🤯 The Haiti National Team will have to change its uniform for the World Cup. 🇭🇹 FIFA has asked Saeta, the company responsible for the uniform's design, to alter it due to potential political messages. 👕 Haiti's jersey features a design of the Battle of Vertières from 1803. This battle was considered decisive for the country's independence following the conflict with France. ⚔️ ℹ️ @geglobo

This is ridiculous. Part of the guarantees that all FIFA World Cup hosts have to sign is the free movement of all participating teams and officials through the hosting counties. I know this because it was part of the guarantees the Indian government had to sign before hosting the FIFA U17 World Cup in 2017. This sounds like a last minute compromise where the US could not outright refuse Iran, but still needed to save face and make it as difficult as possible for them. That is an unfair disadvantage for Iran and should be condemned by all football lovers.

Iran’s World Cup squad has been notified they must enter and leave US soil on the same day of their matches played in America, says Tehran’s ambassador to Mexico. 🔴 LIVE updates: aje.news/x8ky2u

I have been saying from day one that this nonsense of increasing seats from 543 to 850 is just to ensure male MPs are not displaced. Amit Shah is now openly citing this as a selling point, which tells us how insincere all this talk of 'mahila sashaktikaran' is. Women's empowerment is not acceptable to Shah and Modi unless already powerful men are empowered even more.

Absolute bunkum. The constitutional amendments proposed do not reference the 2011 census, but ANY census that Parliament may decide. Nothing prevents this Parliament from using the 2027 census which will be available before the 2029 elections. Every question of delimitation will be left to a delimitation commission without constitutional protection or guidance. It will be headed by a retired Supreme Court judge who may be trusted to remain as fair in the commission as in the previous avatar in court. Without a full road map, jumping into constitutional amendments that would distort power within the federation, disproportionately empower the populous states at the expense of the disciplined states, will be casting an unfair and iniquitous burden on the latter. An imperfect union can survive but an unjust union won't.

There’s massive confusion on Delimitation , mostly manufactured, partly misunderstood. Let’s set the facts straight 👇 GOI has NOT said seats will be redistributed purely on population basis. The reference is 2011 Census, but that does NOT automatically mean “North gains, South loses.” The idea being discussed = increase total seats (~50%), not aggressively cut or shift existing ones. 👉 In simple terms: Expand the pie, don’t reshuffle it brutally. So why the panic? Because people are mixing 3 different things: Census data 📊 Population-based allocation ⚖️ Seat expansion ➕ These are NOT the same. Also remember,Delimitation has been frozen for decades to ensure states controlling population are not punished. Now suddenly every discussion is being spun as: “South will lose power” That’s not what has been officially stated. Reality check: ✔ No final formula notified ✔ No official redistribution model released ✔ Only broad direction discussed But social media is already running full political narratives. Bottom line: Until a clear framework is out, everything else is speculation, fear mongering, or agenda driven noise. Let policy come first. Debate later.

The @BBCNews has turned into an active & unrelenting propagandist for Netanyahu’s expansionist wars for a Greater Israel. They've abandoned any pretence of analysis & just read out IDF press releases as if they are objective truth. They've turned into Orwell’s Ministry of Truth

Israel ruthlessly carpet bombed Lebanon today, killing at least 180 people and injuring more than 800. How does the BBC report it? “Israel says it hit more than 100 command centres and military sites in 10 minutes…” This is how war crimes are laundered.

We come from a country where Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru had the moral clarity to create the Non Aligned Movement. Where Indira Gandhi stood up to the US to liberate Bangladesh. Where Atal Behari Vajpayee had the courage to defend Palestine. "Strategic silence" right now is nothing but cowardice - and I am sure most Indians will not bend down once again in servitude as cowards.

Pinarayi Vijayan and then finance minister Thomas Isaac (right) during their visit to the London Stock Exchange where they rang the customary bell to begin the day’s trading, in May 2019. While Vijayan’s government has continuously pushed welfare, it has also sustained neoliberal restructuring of government policies, especially public utilities. My FAN moment: 67 year old Elizabeth Joseph who works as a flower seller outside the St Antony’s Church in Kochi. One of her children is now an IT engineer, the daughter a teacher. Comes to work at 5 am and stays till midnight, makes Rs 2000 on a good day. Celebrates all festivals: Xmas, Diwali, Eid and of course Onam. Maybe this is the Keralam/India story that should be told and inspire, no? ⭐️👍 #ElectionsOnMyPlate

America will bomb your country until there's nothing left, then go back 20 years later and make a movie about how depressed their soldiers got from doing it.

#Iran | #Switzerland is deeply alarmed by today’s strikes by the United States and Israel against Iran. 🇨🇭calls for full respect of international law, including the #UNCharter and #IHL. We urge all parties to exercise maximum restraint, protect civilians and civilian infrastructure. The Swiss Embassy remains operational. Our good offices remain at the disposal of the parties involved.
