It was good to be at the 10th Anniversary of @KIRANCymru on Thursday, held in the Senedd. A chance to celebrate their success! @JayneCowan

Thank you for the tour - @JayneCowan and I found it fascinating to learn about the history of Llanrumney Hall, as well as how it is used today for the benefit of the community in east #Cardiff. Look forward to catching up again soon.
Llanrumney Hall@LlanrumneyHall

Last Thursday, we had the privilege of welcoming the Lord Mayor (@Adrian1Robson) and Lady Mayoress (@JayneCowan) of Cardiff to Llanrumney Hall where we gave them a guided tour of the building and they learned about its remarkable history – from its origins in 1066 right through to the vital role it plays in our community today. As Llanrumney Hall continues to expand its reach and support across Cardiff, the visit was an opportunity to strengthen the connection between the communities of Cardiff East, @cardiffcouncil and @SeneddWales, helping ensure our charity can continue to grow and support as many local people and organisations as possible. We want to say a huge thank you to the Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress for their time last week – their genuine interest in our work and the local community was clear, and we look forward to working together more in the future.

Happy #StPatricksDay! Thank you to @IrlCGWales for the invite to last week's St Patrick's Day reception held at St David's Hotel. It was interesting to hear from Irish Minister Kieran O'Donnell TD about the links between Ireland and Wales, as well as chat with Cardiffians from Ireland. And the music - traditional Irish tunes at the start and the fantastic soloist at the end - also added to the event.

A wonderful atmosphere at yesterday's St Davids (+12) Days afternoon tea party in the old STAR centre, #Splott, #Cardiff. Great entertainment with songs from all genres in Welsh and/or about Wales, plus lots of tea and cake! Congratulations to all at Splott Community Volunteers for organising - everyone there was having a great time!

Wonderful to attend the Worshipful Livery Company of Wales' St David's Dinner & Awards Ceremony, held at Cornerstone, #Cardiff. It was great to celebrate success in this wonderful venue. For me, the highlight were the two soloists performances (one of whom is a counter-tenor).

It was a pleasure to welcome Japanese students to the Mansion House today, who are on an exchange visit at Ysgol Plasmawr, #Cardiff. The Cardiff-Sakai exchange has been going for 35 years and is a great opportunity for Japanese students from Sakai to experience Welsh culture and vice-versa for Cardiff students. They also brought a wonderful letter from the Mayor of Sakai city (Fukui, #Japan), Mr Yoshitaka Ikeda - and I too hope this exchange between the schools will continue for many years to come.

It was great to be at the @CdfBusinessClb's recent dinner and panel discussion on Life Science & AI. As well as an opportunity to catch up with Cardiff's business sector, the discussion was very though-provoking about how the technology is embedded and the high-level challenges faced by companies using it. x.com/CdfBusinessClb…

It was lovely to join the Forget Me Not Chorus last night at their rehearsal in #Cardiff. @Adrian1Robson and I enjoyed talking to Councillor Julie Sangani about the charity which is one of the two Lord Mayor’s Charities this year alongside The Rescue Hotel for Dogs. The group are busily preparing for their next exciting performance ‘Shall We Dance’ which promises to be something very special. All details are on the poster.

It was great to welcome guests to the #Cardiff Mansion House for today's Commonwealth Day flag raising ceremony! This year's theme is unlocking opportunities together for a prosperous commonwealth and it was good to hear messages about how today's challenges can be faced. Thanks to Rev Canon Stewart Lisk for overseeing the service and to the Lord Lieutenant, the High Sheriff & Representatives from @walesrcs who contributed. 📹 @JayneCowan

Cardiffians - are you up for a challenge? Because at the last Council meeting, I was pleased to announce the Lord Mayor's Speaking Competition! This is a friendly contest open to anyone, aged 18 or over, who lives or works in Cardiff. All you have to do is to give a five minute speech which is somehow related to an aspect of Cardiff. The final will be held at Cardiff Castle on Tuesday 14th April. For more details click here lordmayorofcardiff.co.uk/speaking-conte… So why not enter - or encourage your friends and family to! Good luck! @JayneCowan
