Chloe woke up at 6:45am and immediately felt proud of herself. She had, after all, not eaten a single animal product in four years. The planet was healing. She could feel it. 6:52am - Applied her morning SPF. The SPF contains beeswax. Chloe does not know this. Moving on. 7:10am - Breakfast: a smoothie containing avocado. The avocado was grown in Michoacán, Mexico, on land where a pine forest was until 2019. It required approximately 320 litres of water to produce. It was flown to the UK. Chloe sprinkled hemp seeds on top. The hemp seeds came from China. Chloe felt connected to the earth. 8:00am - Got dressed. Polyester leggings, derived from crude oil. A bamboo top that was processed using carbon disulphide in a Taiwanese chemical plant. Trainers with a recycled plastic upper that sheds microplastics into waterways with every wash. Chloe's outfit today had a higher carbon footprint than a ribeye steak. Chloe does not know this either. 9:30am - Posted on Instagram about choosing compassion. The phone was manufactured in a Shenzhen factory using cobalt from the DRC, where mining operations have displaced local communities and killed an unknowable number of small mammals, reptiles, and insects. The algorithm served Chloe an ad for oat milk. Chloe liked it. 12:00pm - Lunch: tofu stir-fry. The soy was grown in Brazil. Brazil produces more soy than almost any country on earth. The primary reason is soybean oil: one of the most widely used industrial and culinary oils on the planet. The soymeal left over after oil extraction is fed to livestock as a byproduct. Chloe is aware of the livestock connection and finds it outrageous. She has not looked into why the soy was grown in the first place. The answer is the oil. The oil is in her salad dressing. 1:30pm - Drove to the garden centre. The car runs on petrol. Chloe has a Just Stop Oil sticker on the bumper. This is not being commented on further. 3:00pm - Bought a monstera. The monstera was grown in a Dutch greenhouse using natural gas heating. Chloe put it next to the pothos that is slowly poisoning the neighbourhood cats. 6:00pm - Dinner: pasta with cashew cream sauce. The cashews were processed in Vietnam, often by workers in conditions that would prompt significant commentary if they were in an abattoir. 8:00pm - Watched a documentary about factory farming. Wept. Posted about it. Caption: "We have to do better." Chloe is, by every measure she has chosen to measure by, doing brilliantly. By some of the others, the picture is more complicated. Chloe has not chosen to measure by those.

Well said. The tacos are taco’ing anymore. Going to need a different external force to move this market imo. Don’t think it’s going to be Trump. We just saw it. He made an announcement about the war being over, but the market wouldn’t really move until it heard iran’s confirmation of peace negotiations…which never really came

Markets seem to react increasingly muted off of admin headlines. We keep seeing headlines but no follow-through on promises. We have been hearing about a few days of operations... became weeks We heard not oil infrastructure would be hit... Hit few days later We heard no troops... But we now have 8k+ troops moving towards Iran Every promise got broken so far and the market seems tired of it. Even the potential Iranian peace deal from yesterday is mostly retraced... Biggest question is what if the market just doesn't believe it anymore and troops actually go in next weekend. Reminder that the 5 day pause aligns perfectly with troops arriving in front of the Iranian coast.

@thealepalombo Takes will ruin you in France. Cost of living is one of the highest among Med countries. And you wont encounter large expat comunities in these places. Moreover you will hardly survive only speaking English. Even French is not enough if you dont master the local accent. a pity.

I'm Italian. After my thread on Italy's hidden cities blew up, a close French friend called me. "You did Italy. Now do France. But don't embarrass yourself, let me 'elp." We spent a weekend going back and forth. He'd suggest a city, I'd research it. I'd push back, he'd prove me wrong. By Sunday night, we had a list. 7 hidden cities in France that most people, including most French, will never think to visit, let alone move to. No crowds. No tourist markup. Insane quality of life. 🧵

I’m so tired of ignorant foreigners worshipping China’s railways and bridges. China’s infrastructure looks great, until you realize almost every single province is bankrupted like pre-2010 Greece, or worse. It’s called ‘local debt’. Think about it: the entirety of China’s savings by ordinary people and firms over decades of economic boom got dumped into these rubbish assets through the government-controlled banking system. Roads and bridges are classic vanity political projects: look good but make no money. To build these on debt is financial suicide. And when local debts become insurmountable, the central government poured even more savings into these irresponsible, default-worthy debts. Every city on earth can build new bridges, roads and highways if they’re willing to empty their bank accounts and borrow as China did (and able to bulldoze over houses at the government’s will.) Yet, behind every new bridge in China are a bunch of effectively bankrupted families whose bank savings have been completely decimated. They just don’t know it, because - guess what - the government controls information too.

Leonid Radvinsky never gave a single public interview, and he ran a 46-person company that processed $7.2 billion in revenue last year. You can have complicated feelings about what he built. I do. But the business story is worth knowing. Radvinsky was born in Odesa, Ukraine, and his family moved to Chicago when he was a kid. He graduated from Northwestern in 2002 with an economics degree, then founded an adult webcam site called MyFreeCams two years later. In 2018, he bought a 75% stake in OnlyFans' parent company, Fenix International, from British founders Tim and Guy Stokely. At the time, OnlyFans was pulling in less than $100 million a year. By 2024, the platform had 377 million registered users, 4.6 million creators, and was generating $7.22 billion in revenue on $684 million in profit, all with 46 employees. That works out to roughly $14.9 million in profit per employee, more than Nvidia, Meta, Apple, or Netflix per head. OnlyFans' CEO told Bloomberg in October 2025 that the platform had paid out $25 billion to creators since 2016. Creators keep 80 cents of every dollar fans spend, and OnlyFans takes the other 20. Radvinsky owned the whole thing and never took a dollar of venture capital, never went public, never carried debt. He paid himself over $1.8 billion in dividends since taking over, and Forbes pegged his net worth at $7.8 billion at its peak in late 2025. He died of cancer at 43. In 2024, he and his wife funded a $23 million cancer research grant, and he had donated $5 million to Ukraine relief back in 2022. The platform is controversial, and the arguments about its societal impact are real and worth having. But a Ukrainian kid who moved to Chicago, never took outside funding, employed fewer people than a mid-size restaurant, and built a company that paid $25 billion to creators while running one of the most profitable internet businesses on earth, all without ever saying a word publicly, that story tells itself through the numbers.

Trump says Iran has 48 hours to open the Strait, then says we don’t even need the Strait, then says you better open it, then says the war is basically over, then says it could go on for a long time, then says we’re not talking because there’s nobody to talk to, then says there are very productive conversations, then says we’re not negotiating, then says maybe we are, then calls for a 5-day pause, then says we don’t need allies, then says all our allies better step up, then says everything is under control, then threatens escalation again. Every position, every direction, all at once.

Aia nu stau in CASH propriuzis. Daca Titlurile scad o data cu actiunile inseamna ca vand Titluri ca sa evite Margin Calls si ca sa acopere gauri din portofoliu.
