@u1ro_ishikawa @AgkistroZero Personally, I think OSR might include editions older than the 3rd one, so AD&D 2nd Edition and everything before that (so, AD&D 1st Edition, BECMI, B/X, Blue Box, and 3LBB). That, and, obviously, the retroclones.
English

@AgkistroZero おそらくそうです。
「60% of all the groups currently looking for players are for Dungeons and Dragons, either 5.5E, 5E or some previous edition」とあるので、「OSR」はD&Dの古い版そのものを含んでいないと思います。

@jezos_biff @tokyo1000000000 @romain_delyonne As other people said, Shinto doesn't really have any rules or teachings, aside from some (quite anachronistic) rules of "ritual purity".
Buddhism (a religion with actual teachings and moral rules) existed alongside Shinto for a very long time in Japan, as a combined religion.
English

@tokyo1000000000 @romain_delyonne Correct me if I'm wrong but for prayer, it's more like just honoring Shinto. You go to a shrine and say a prayer to the Kami, being all the gods, which would be like more or less just a promise to respect all the things in which the gods inhabit. No rules or teachings?

@himajinsan0401 Meiling still looks lovely, and huggable, and... fit for less appropriate activities.

@u1ro_ishikawa 2/2 PCs in this one,by default, are strong, but not superhumanly-so... Think stuff like less-cartoonish Lupin the 3rd, Indiana Jones, James Bond, and Conan the Barbarian.
English

@u1ro_ishikawa That's certainly true.... (Based Musou reference!).
I don't know if this one got any releases in Japanese, but Savage Worlds is a good generic TTRPG system for combat-heavy adventures 1/2

@imai_dynm7800 congrats, now you have to feed her and take care of the shrine

@tyaramu @ugogo_illust Meiling looks so sexy... 🫠
... alright, then. What sort of lost bet or punishment is this?

@NWBroJaneway 3/3 Therefore, GM's job is not only to enforce the rules, but to also think how they should be applied, to avoid such frustrating sillyness happening - if blindly applying a rule causes illogical results to happen consistently, it should be applied more thoughtfully.
English

@NWBroJaneway Most RPGs don't really detail any procedure for that, so the most intuitive "RAW" approach is rolling for everyone involved... which shifts the odds to the point that any sort of sneaking is, 90% or more of the time, useless. And that's bad.

This entire situation evaporates with one bizarre trick. Play your game Rules as Written. No discussion. No houserules. If it's not in the book it's not valid. The end.

Players & keeper can make any agreement they please. What is bad is DURING the game for players to try negotiate rules adjustments - slowing down play and turning what should be decisions into wheedling. Once the game has started, for the good of the game, the keeper should be the primary interpreter of the rules.
