@jhfgamble @Rellimj @josemorgado @fielder9 I do think that Zhang could have handled the situation better and that arguing with umpire for 5+ minutes might not be the fairest towards her opponent but I still think that Toth shouldn't have done that. Unnecessary from her side.

@jhfgamble @Rellimj @josemorgado @fielder9 Yeah but her laughing with the crowd, overly celebrating after winning match that her opponent retired from and looking at Zhang before erasing the mark indicates that she might have done that to rile up her already emotional opponent

Shocking scenes in Budapest: Facing a local player, Zhang Shuai got robbed in a mark at 5-5, complained about the situation, was ignored and then booed. Retired minutes later with a panick attack — she admitted some mental health concerns recently.

@jhfgamble @Rellimj @josemorgado @fielder9 I honestly think that is that much worse. Rubbing that mark away was like rubbing salt into the wound. You are correct but cannot do anything with it. I don't understand why she even erased it. If she just stayed quiet, none of this would happen...

I think it is because the video is cut to make it look like it had happened directly after the point, whereas the point that left the mark was 2 points prior - the umpire can’t do anything then and it makes the action by Toth of erasing the mark to get on with it much more acceptable
