She never said Sokka didn’t love their mom. She said he didn’t love her the way she did. Katara carried a different type of grief because she was targeted as the last Southern waterbender.
Sokka was naive for not backing her up. If someone has info on your mother’s killer, you go get answers. People just hate complex female characters.

At this point, I feel like the writers of The Last Airbender are biased. In The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender (leaked movie), they could’ve easily added Suki to Team Avatar. Her contributions alone during the war were huge; she helped defend Kyoshi Island against the Fire Nation, trained with Team Avatar, played a key role in rescuing Appa, and consistently held her own against elite Fire Nation soldiers. She was arguably more reliable in combat than Sokka at several points, especially in direct battles. Adding her to the core team would’ve made a lot of sense and honestly improved the group dynamic a lot more.
