You can do this but everyone always conveniently miss how athletes have a career lifespan of 10-20 years and a creative can have one their entire lifetime. Not evn tryna excuse anything but do you imagine someone working themselves to the bone to create for 50 years? Not Athletes

While dedication is a necessity in pursuing creative endeavours, the challenges that athletes face are the reason they train based on output. Creative people can’t only train based on output because time for inspiration, research and recreation is essential for creating good work

I get what Clint is saying here but this approach eventually ends up being way too output based. The body and mind of an athlete is not linear, but it is far more linear than the creative mind. Approaching creation in this way leads to burnout.
